[gNewSense-users] Debian installer for gnewsense availabe?
Hello, I want to switch to gnewsense because I do not trust anything propriatry anymore. I really need encrypted drives ( anything but /boot ) though. Do you have an ISO with the debian installer, so that I can setup gnewsense with dm-crypt and lvm? Thanks, - Tom - ___ gNewSense-users mailing list gNewSense-users@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnewsense-users

I'm a user with the same basic goal as the OP (I just use carefully monitored Gentoo and Ubuntu for my encryption needs, but that leaves me exposed to an unfree kernel), and I'd love to see this in gNewSense. I know people that advocate Gnu for security reasons, and just about have to hand out Ubuntu CD's (strongly recommending using the Free Software Only installation option) in order to advocate easy FDE. -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkjRsbcACgkQPGdJqB3PmvweEwCgz5e39P/RNjZtraY1dtByVbjn aEIAoJI9UcuN+QM8hNtFHSLOj7qIsKbp =8xg9 -END PGP SIGNATURE- ___ gNewSense-users mailing list gNewSense-users@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnewsense-users

The ubuntu-cd tools allow generating live/d-i cds, for different 'flavours', and a few other nifty things, so in my mind it would give us d-i, and remove our existing cd generation. the same basic goal as the OP (I just use carefully monitored Gentoo and Ubuntu for my encryption needs, but that leaves me exposed to an unfree kernel), and I'd love to see this in gNewSense. Yes, i've been doing checkouts from [1]. If I am, would you know where I could see some documentation? The Ubuntu wiki is surprisingly bare. No i cant, i'm afraid, not past look at the README in the branch. One reason its low priority is making up the doco as you go. This is why i said : You'll need a bzr checkout of ubuntu-cd ... desire to make notes and document what you do.
