* Use Source San Pro font from static.gnome.org
* Change navbar color
* Adjust text color of navbar elements

I used this handy website https://theme-creator.discourse.org where you can
tweak and preview your discourse theme easily.

Please give it a try and share your comments :-)

Neil McGovern commented:

We need a description for each category and sub-category.
The first paragraph should be short (<200 characters)

Following paragraphs should describe:
* Why should people use this category? What is it for?
* How exactly is this different than the other categories we already have?
* What should topics in this category generally contain?

Sure, I see discourse provides a wide variety of theming support.

Should be easy to recreate the style we already have.

Re: Infrastructure | New discourse instance (#99)

2019-02-27 Thread Emmanuele Bassi

Emmanuele Bassi commented:

The hierarchy and taxonomy of the categories requires some thought, but it
doesn't need to be "right" from the very start. We should be able to move
things around.

If we use general macro areas as top levels, we could go with:

 - Platform
 - Desktop
 - Applications
 - Community

Drilling down sub-categories, we could reuse [the platform
overview](https://developer.gnome.org/platform-overview/unstable/) as a
template:

 - Platform
  - Core
  - Networking
  - Language bindings
  - Media
  - …

The "Core" sub-category would have tags for GLib, GTK, Pango, etc.; the
"language bindings" sub-category would have tags for Python, JavaScript, Perl,
etc..

 - Desktop
  - Shell
  - System Settings
  - …

The sub-categories are for large topics that can involve multiple components;
"Shell" refers to both gnome-shell and mutter, but also to the extensions,
Clutter and Cogl, etc.

 - Applications
  - Builder
  - …

The "Applications" category would have sub-categories for larger applications,
and tags for everything else.

Under the "Community" category we could have Engagement, Announcements, Events,
Fund raising, etc.
