Does it mean that NAT-traversal is more efficient in Ekiga than in gnomemeeting-1.2.x ? Yes. If yes, in what domains ? If no, what do you mean by 'more reachable' ? I won't explain the technical details, but basically: - Ekiga tries to detect the type of NAT using STUN - if your type of NAT is compatible with STUN (Linux, many hardware routers), you will be reachable from the outside without any port forwarding. Ekiga will create a hole in your router, and that hole will be registered on the SIP registrar, and anybody calling you using your sip address will be able to reach you. In some cases, the NAT router is incompatible with STUN. In that case, unfortunately, port forwarding is still required (or using a proxy). In september, I moved to another room where the That specific problem is solved using SIP over UDP and Ekiga. -- _ Damien Sandras (o- //\ GnomeMeeting: http://www.gnomemeeting.org/ v_/_FOSDEM 2006 : http://www.fosdem.org SIP Phone : sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ GnomeMeeting-list mailing list GnomeMeeting-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnomemeeting-list

Well, I will need some time to remember it, but it is better than the current one. however, adding a bit more info about what ekiga is will be good. Google does not know too much, wikipedia also. Adding a wikipedia article about ekiga with reference to ... ekiga and gnomemeeting :-) might be a good thing to do. The only software that works here is Skypewhich, I must admit it, is perfect in its 2.0 release concerning videoand NAT traversal - except that it's not open source,With the version 1.X of skype NAT traversal is also excelent , But The Main problem IS : SKype protocol is closed , so nobody wants to use skype . if your are on windows , Google Talk would fit your needs and you are not locked in... Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] Free Your Speech!
Hello! I think, this is not a NAT-problem. It sounds like, somebody has blocked all the ports for H323 and SIP. Skype is working, because Skype is using Port 80 instead, and they can not block Port 80. I have tried many combinations of firewall settings and I have not encountered any real problem with GnomeMeeting. Have you tried something like nmap [Scan Type(s)] [Options] host or net list to check the ports? Guenther Davao City, Philippines, Planet Earth, 27.0 °C Timothée Lecomte wrote: Hello !
