Re: [GNC-dev] Budget accumulate amounts

2019-08-20 Thread Adrien Monteleone
How about: ‘report amounts as YTD’

If ‘Year’ isn’t necessarily a consistent concept, then something like you
suggested, ‘report/use accumulated amounts’ would work.

I can play with it soon. (as well as test the First Day of Week fix) Now I
guess I just need to set up a build workflow for Mac. (I’ve built on Ubuntu
several times, but never tried on Mac yet)

Adrien

[GNC-dev] Budget accumulate amounts

2019-08-20 Thread Christopher Lam
Dear All

The current maint for upcoming 3.7 includes an upgrade to the basic budget
report; it incorporates calculations to accumulate budgeted and actual
amounts from the beginning of the budget period. The aim is to incorporate
Phil Longstaff's budget-ytd strategy into the main budget report. I have
labelled the option "General"/"Use envelope budgeting".

I am fairly certain that my calculations are correct but would like some
confirmation. Moreover I am not happy with the option name. What should it
be?
e.g. "Accumulate amounts across periods", "Use accumulated amounts".

Suggestions welcome!

Re: [GNC-dev] Semi-Floating decimal in stock shares

2019-08-20 Thread Bob Gustafson
Sometimes it is nice to see all of the decimal points aligned when
viewing a column of numbers. Some investments come in thousandths of a
share. Not trimming is not a bug.

why not remove 2 trailing zeros, or even 3?  Or keep all three places and have
the decimal points in line?  Or make it an option to trim all or none?
Trimming just one zero when there were 2 or 3 is a bug, at any rate.
