Roger, The Locations for saved reports changed between V2 and V3 of GnuCash. Details are given in the Wiki page https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Configuration_Locations#:~:text=The%20default%20locations%20are%3A,gnucash. I think they relate to Windows 8/10 but not sure about Win 7. There are links there to open diagrams which illustrate the changed locations a bit more clearly than the text on that page. Re: [GNC] (no subject)
So, perhaps you could send a screen shot of your non-working chart of accounts? Someone might be able to see what the problem is. For the record, there is/was a *folder* in windows that was called ".gnucash", and the default extension for a gnucash data file is ".gnucash". The former included a number of files that controlled the software (such as saved-reports.x.x, which contains your saved report settings), while the latter is a simple file ("myaccounts.gnucash", for example) stored in a location of your choosing. For what it's worth, the location of the settings folder was changed between 2.6 and 3.0, I believe. Just to update you guys. The fedora 34 rpm, gnucash-4.5-1.fc34.x86_64.rpm, indeed includes the python bindings and the gnucash python module is properly install. Once the rpm is installed, the "import gnucash" in python is successful. Regarding building from sources, after trying a couple of releases, I was able to do a successful bild for release 4.5. Release 4.4 and others are still failing, but that is the past.
