Subject: [IMail Forum] Footnote to appear at the bottom of every message

Dear All

Could someone help?

I am trying to have a footnote (disclaimer) placed at the bottom of
every message that is sent out. I read a note that says the message
should be contained in a trailer.txt file placed in the IMail
directory.

This was done and the services restarted but still not foot note appears
on any of my messages sent. I am not sending any of the messages to the
local domain as he states the note will be displayed only on external
domain host.

Is there something else that is to be looked at that I might have
missed?

I have a standard IMail setup with approx. 45 users. We are running
  IMail 8.05.
  We have a domain 'company.com'.
There is one user 'Mary' who is getting email from 'Jane', even though Jane
did not address this email to Mary.
  eg:
  Jane ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) sends 20
emails a day. These emails are to a variety of people, sometimes in the
office, sometimes out, sometimes a combination of the two.
One (sometimes two, rarely three) of those 20 emails ends up going to [EMAIL PROTECTED], even though
  it wasn't sent to her.
Anyone have any ideas as to why Mary gets these random, misdirected
  emails?
  Thanks,
  Tony

There's nothing after the 'performing antispam checks' for ID '2DEF0292'.

Yes, mine did as well.

I think if you've never had a problem installing Imail you can use the
patch
with little to fear. If you've ever run into problems in the past then I
would go for the full install.

RE: [IMail Forum] Double emails

2004-08-17 Thread Randal Hendrix
Check how often that the mail client polls the server for any new messages.

I've experienced this problem with Outlook being set to check the server
every 1 or 2 minutes and the user having dozens of emails. I would
recommend checking every 5 or 10 minutes.

Hope this helps.

RE: [IMail Forum] Duplicate downloads

2003-12-10 Thread Randal Hendrix
I've seen this also. With Outlook clients, its usually because the interval
time that the client checks the server for more mail is set too low.
Especially for users who get lots of mail over the weekend. I don't feel
that it's an Imail problem.

Hello...

Some of my users are complaining that they sometimes get duplicate
downloads of their messages. It's as though IMail forgets when the last

Sometimes this will happen several times in a week or two.

This is a corporate mail server. All employees use Eudora, so I cannot
tell if the problem would affect any other mail client.

The Eudora community is pointing their fingers at IMail.

Any suggestions? IMail 604 on WinNT4SP6.

Thx,
D

I have seen this behaviour with Outlook clients, usually on a Monday
morning (lots of clients with lots of mail to download)
It seems as if imail times out before the mail has been completely
downloaded, assumes that no mail has been picked up, and sends the whole
lot again.

Could it be a problem with the queue manager?

RE: [IMail Forum] OT: Outlook files

2003-04-01 Thread Randal Hendrix
It depends on how Outlook 2000 is configured as to whether you see
Accounts or Services. If you see Accounts it means Outlook 2000 was
configured for Internet Mail and Services means it was configured for
Corporate and/or Workgroup. Go to Tools/Options/Mail Services and you will
see a Reconfigure Mail Support button near the bottom.

Thanks for the suggestions. Turns out that Microsoft in their ever
changing reach to innovate seems to move the location of the account pst
file for every operating system. I suppose someone at MS thinks this has
some utility. It only annoys me.

We think we have finally found the latest on the network server, as Khamsi
suggested.

The next thing I discovered is that they also move the options from the
menus. I have the version from Windows Office 2000 which has Accounts in
the tools menu. The client has what must be a newer version where they
have completely done away with accounts and send you through Tools-Services
and request you attach Exchange Server services (which would never work on
my system because none of my accounts run on an exchange server). I am now
wondering how one sets up multiple e-mail accounts on this version which I
will probably need the next time I run into it.
