Re: [IMail Forum] hard drive clone software suggestions
That's exactly the reverse of my experience! I've had a few situations where Ghost simply wouldn't work (i.e. couldn't read the drives I couldn't find the drivers to make it work). For me, Acronis has worked in every one of these situations where Ghost failed. So much so that I filed my Ghost CD and never use it anymore. Only hitch was once I did have one setup where the HDs got botched up to restore it, I had to use my home CD to boot the computer (which apparently is newer has more drivers than my corporate one). I especially like Acronis' ability to backup/restore to/from a network, USB or Firewire drive, in addition to any SATA or IDE drives attached to the machine. My experiences with above are limited to Windows servers desktops... plus you can schedule it to run full or partial drive image backups while Windows is running. Just set a schedule you'll always have a recent copy ready. -- Roger Todd [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have used Acronis and I love it's gui and for certain things but I have had a few problems with it. I clone a lot of drives and the simplest and most bulletproof is Symantec Ghost, never fails - Windows server, workstation or Linux. [IMail Forum] Lean iMail Web interface?
Does anyone know if iMail has made any progress on a lean webmail interface for 2006 that doesn't take so much bandwidth? I heard they were working on one a long time ago but never heard anything more. -- Thanks, Roger To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
[IMail Forum] 8.22 to 2006 Upgrade
I've been sitting on my 2006 upgrade for a while now... mostly because my 8.xx version is actually working well, so I didn't want to open a new can of worms since we're just a small office IT is only 1 of my responsibilities. Now I'm ready to look at installing v2006, but am curious if I can do this as an upgrade to my 8.22 install, or I have to do a clean install to avoid any additional bugs. -- Roger To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
[IMail Forum] Webmail Templates
How come none of the Imail Webmail templates have a feature to edit drafts like most other Webmail interfaces do? Without this feature, the users in my small office are a _slightly_ dissatisfied using Imail Webmail to say the least. Anyone have a simple template mod to add this? Managing the IT and servers here only makes up a small portion of my time, so I'm looking for something other than someone telling me to make all my own templates! -- Roger To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
[IMail Forum] Imap Frequently Disconnects
Anyone know an easy way to keep an Imap connection active between server client? Remote users (the farther away the worse the problem) are having their connection to the sent box disconnect after a few minutes of inactivity (so they get errors when their client saves a copy of their message), and the only way they seem to fix it is to look in the sent box before sending a message. Just having them save their sent messages to a local folder doesn't work for all clients either, as file copies need to be stored on the server.
