Tyler,

They very likely have some sort of peering arrangement set up, which would
speed up routing of mail. It is also quite possible that these ISPs
whitelist each other's known IP blocks, which would speed-up delivery by
giving them less tests to run. Add that to the fact that they are most
likely pulling the IP addresses of large ISPs out of their cache, rather
than having to do individual lookups for small ISPs, and you can see why the
big guys get what seems like preferential treatment.

I know it has been discussed many times before and we all know hotmail and
msn are terrible but why is it that I can deliver a message to my hotmail
account using yahoo or EarthLink and it shows up in 2 seconds but I can't
get it delivered through my Imail? Heck even dnsreports.com has had a hard
time connecting their email servers all day long. I am probably being
ignorant and there is preferential treatment for the big ISPs and email
services??

Oh well, how is that 2006 going?

be back up soon, typically during a reboot).

Re: [IMail Forum] hotmail and msn

2003-10-16 Thread Shmuel Maruani
Hi,
Few weeks ago I setup the Imail 8.03 on one of my servers and got the same
problem.
at the end - The problem was mix with DNS SMTP and Queue Manager . Check the
following setup:
1. Verify DNS configure (If you have multiply IP on the same network card)
2. Check SMTP (clean)
3. Disable the AnitSpam
4. Clear the Queue Manager
5. In Queue Manager (Just for test)
- disable DNS Cache
- Disable Failed Domain
5 restart all services

In most of the case it will solved the problem
only than return AntiSpam
DNS
and than Failed Domain Skipping

For me it help !
P.S.
I try to reinstall several time unit I got to it.

Sam
