I just tried and I can't repeat it either. I guess it has been fixed as a side
effect of something else during the last 4 years. Thank you for the follow-up!

Just tested this out and as of Gwenview 16.12.3, during a slideshow the

Well the problem is still here. Current login time is atrocious on HDD, If you
say that plasmashell has higher priority already, how is that mysqld and
akondiserver kick in before plasmashell is fully loaded? Something doesn't fit

> While the file is gone, it doesn't mean that one suddenly loses the
> possibility to show its content which is already being shown

Only because of the technical implementation detail of main memory, and how the
file is cached there, even though its presence in permanent storage is gone.
Most users don't and shouldn't need to understand this, and are confused by why
something that's been deleted would be still available for viewing.

If we step back a bit, your real goal is to be able to view picture attachments
from Trojita. Right now you can't do that, because of the way Trojita stores
them in /tmp and then immediately deletes them (?) and moves them elsewhere,
presumably. You are proposing to change Gwenview to accomodate Trojita's odd
behavior. I propose the opposite: that Trojita stop doing this weird
redirection and timer-based deletion of files in /tmp. /tmp exists for
precisely the reason they are using it: to hold temporary files. No need to
perform manual cleaning. The system takes care of that.

Please work with the Trojita devs to change the their email client to behave in
a more standard manner with regards to /tmp usage.

As it's the menu it could be the plasma-integration qpt acting as the
difference.

If you unset any env vars that mention KDE and it goes away please reassign to

[krita] [Bug 384544] New: No GMIC plugin for Linux

I'm surprised when after updating Krita, GMIC doesn't appear, but need to
download a plugin version. However, is GMIC's page, there is only Windows
version of the plugin.
Despite I even downloaded the Windows 64 bits and point Krita to the unzipped
folder, if I try to launch the plugin from Krita, Krita crash.

Why there is no Linux version of the plugin?

> What would you rather it do? Continue showing a file that no longer exists?

Yes. I tried to explain my reasons and the use case behind this situation.
While the file is gone, it doesn't mean that one suddenly loses the possibility
to show its content which is already being shown. I'm also fine if some
features are disabled -- I can imagine that one won't be able to zoom, for
example. However, navigating to a different file is confusing in the scenario I
described in my original submission, four and half years ago.

oh! Thats what it is!

Ive been struggling with this for a few hours as well...

I tried to reproduce it with a long clip in a new file but couldnt because it
is not consistent. If you resize the clip at the begining it works, but if you
do it later, it doesnt. Still not sure what triggers it,

But going to the original title clip and setting the duration to 10h everything
works again :)

Thanks for the insight to help me work around it!

Hi!
Came here to request this feature.

I'm looking at a 2191 page scanned (that is, I can't search it) pdf whose TOC
lists chapters and pages. E.g. "Integrated Control Unit" is listed as "23-156".
It DOESN'T say that it's on page 1628.

It could be as simple as evaluating "+169", or accepting +/- after the page
number, e.g. "1473+169". Either/both of those seem a trivial fix (from the
outside).

As for "other software", Okular could be a trend-setter.

Binary searches with a calculator are so 20th century :-)

Thanks
Doug

We support this API since Plasma 5.6. This bug is more about KDE applications
making use of it (so far only KDevelop does for showing compilation progress)

All the dialogs and file pickers created while in full screen use the dark
theme. This seems intentional, seeing as how full screen itself intentionally
switches to the dark theme irrespective of what theme the user has chosen.

Jep. At least for network shares - E.g. try to view some images over webdav
(e.g. an Owncloud/Nextcloud share).
Each time you click next you have to wait for Gwenview to fetch the image from
the server with a loading symbol. If Gwenview had already loaded the next file
it would be instant unless you are flipping through faster than your
disk/network access.
