I have the same issue since I upgraded from f25 to f26, it did an update from
plasma 5.9.5 to 5.10.5. Additionally I tried to autoremove packages, which I
had to roll-back because it removed too many packages. I can provide more
information if someone says what is required.

But first would be necessary to understand where the style of this leave screen
is defined: I couldn't find any hint on the Internet where it might come from.

Investigating deeper, this isn't an issue with Breeze.

In [libreoffice source dir]/vcl/unx/generic/window/salframe.cxx, Libreoffice is
setting NET_WM_ICON (which KWin consumes) to point to a low-res bitmap icon
inside a theme zip file provided by the libreoffice-style-[style] packages;
e.g. /usr/share/libreoffice/share/config/images_breeze.zip/res/odt_48_8.png

This icon looks *awful* in the Large Icons task switcher. It's particularly bad
for the Breeze theme icon they provide, but it's not particularly good for any
of the others either.

Irrespective of what icon theme is chosen internally, LibreOffice should
populate NET_WM_ICON with an icon chosen by the system theme, e.g.
/usr/share/icons/breeze/apps/48/libreoffice-writer.svg

This issue is triggered by KWin's icon handling behavior, as explained in
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351055

Basically, rather than displaying the icons specified in their .Desktop files,
KWin lets programs choose their own icons for their windows in the Task
Switcher, and a lot of programs make really bad choices or provide terrible,
low-res icons.

Either way, this isn't Breeze's fault. Either LibreOffice needs to make better
icon choices, or KWin needs to give up and use the icons specified in the
.desktop file.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the issue is that instead of using the
icon in the .desktop file (which almost always looks good), KWin asks the
window itself what icon to display, and a lot of programs just have poor logic
here and return bad icons, which is particularly visible with the Large Icons
style.

This is done for cases when the window might want to provide a
context-sensitive icon that's more relevant than the generic one in the
.desktop file.

Is that right?

Please note that I am not at all confident I'm reporting against the correct

I'm using a new installation of Arch Linux (new hardware) with KDE. All
packages are drawn from the stable repositories. Plasma is 5.11.0. 

I'm trying to replicate treatment of the compose key by Plasma on my old
hardware. Both machines have a US keyboard with Euro.

I want AltGr for compose and caps lock for the third level chooser. However, I
would setting for ANY key working as compose, provided I can manage without it
for other purposes. I've tried using Caps Lock for compose, the win/menu key
and, I think, alt, one of the ctrls and probably some keys I don't even have. 

Whatever I configure, the keys work perfectly in Firefox and produce garbage in
Kile, Konsole and the test area of KDE settings itself.

Basically the plugin that provides this functionality needs to be patches and
re-compiled to work with Plasma 5, and then your distro needs to provide that
working version, and then you need to install it, or they need to bundle it by
default.

I can confirm that it works because I am using it in my Dolphin compiled from
Git master. :)

The commit was slightly too late to make it into KDE Applications 17.08, which

BTW. In installation procedure there is some bug. In Arch /usr/lib64 is linked
to /usr/lib and as far as I remember you try to create this (/usr/lib64)
directory, so happens error in moment of installation. I just copied manually
the plugin, after I built it.

When I open md file then "Hamburger" menu is disabled and the same "Update the
preview ..." button.
Enabled are following buttons: "Lock preview ..." and "Enable automatic updates
...".
When I open ui file then "Hamburger" menu is enabled in ui preview and becomes
enable in preview md file.

Probably this bug is related with reported by you. I mean bug id: 384973. I
observed the same issue when I opened in Kate as first ui file (no preview) and
second md - preview turned on for both. Both I opened by "Open with" from
Dolphin.
I noticed that dependent bugs: 384448 384449 are not fixed yet. I have the
latest stable: Qt5. Plasma, KF and KApplications, but it changes nothing if
bugs in Kate are still not fixed.

After the installation of the updates and a preupgrade from 17.04 to 17.10, the
following bug appeared, which was shown in the menu after the installation
according to a dashed line, a photo as a proof of this I added as an
attachment.

Solved I have only temporary problem in which I changed under styles from
breeze to breeze Dark and then changed back to Breeze (standard)

ktorrent has no sound configured.

Dolphin is not available in knotification settings.

K3b has KDE-K3B-Finish-Success.ogg, nothing happens when I click the play
button to test it.

I tested all items with notification sound enabled in knotification settings.
None works.

This was fixed a while ago, it was an issue with the cgcicon.knsrc file that we
actually weren't using anyway.

The KTextEditorPreview plugin itself does not preview Markdown files. You need
to have a KParts plugin installed which supports Markdown files, e.g. the
KMarkdownWebView KParts plugin (see
https://frinring.wordpress.com/2017/09/30/kmarkdownwebview-0-2-0/).

What do you see in the "hamburger" menu for the "About KPA>RTSPLUGIN" when you
see a preview, for UI files and for MD files?

Artist, Album, Duration, and Track but no Genre for Pain Panel's View Mode

Dolphin lacks the option of Genre in Additional Data. 
I've taken screenshots so that you can understand my point.

*I looked at Dolphin's Source Code and tried to hack it on my own but I'm still
in the process of learning._.

Metatadata appears on the Information Panel and it is of great help,
unfortunately we need to hover over the files in order to view extended info,
which doesn't help a lot when organizing/moving files by genre.

It would be helpful having genre in the Main Panel also known as View Panel so
that we can select multiple files with same genre. Select them and move them
and move them to another directory.

Information about the bug including backtrace generated from the crash
reporting assistant(it refuses to submit the bug report,error code 410,saying
that i must login when  i had previously logged in)

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Kwin crashes on startup and also when i am using my laptop(randomly)
I checked various bugs including the ones involving intel graphics drivers (my
laptop gpu is Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset) for possible duplicates and
even applied some fixes yet kwin keeps crashing so this is not a duplicate.
The crashes are frequent almost everytime i use kde
- Unusual behavior I noticed:
The application launcher when clicked floats(the application launcher does not
touch the status bar) and sometimes do not respond during the crash until i
restart kwin

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

You're right. If expired.ics is empty on the new computer, you don't need to do
any editing - you can simply copy expired.ics from the old computer and replace
the empty one on the new computer.

I open README.md (attached) by "Open with" (in Dolphin) and see "No preview
available".

I have installed (from AUR) plugin mentioned in article:

like that even KUIViewer is not installed in system. After installation nothing
changed, only ui file is properly shown.

I've also been requesting this option to no avail.
Dolphin needs to have Genre so that we can select multiple files and move them
to another directory. 

Last time I got a response saying it already has support but they don't seem to
understand that we need metatadata to also show on the VIEW PANEL.

Metadata info appears on the Information Panel but it's of no use when we want
to use Dolphin to organize and not just hover on files to see their respected
metadata info.

Is that the only sound that doesn't play, or do they all not play? You can
easily test with the volume OSD, which should play little bloop noises.

I'm running plasma 5.11 with gstreamer backend and the notifications sound does
not play here when I press shift+del to delete a file/folder in dolphin, for

Another problem is, that one html mime part with global style can also change
an other mime part (even if it is a text/plain mime part).

Use case: mailman sends plain text emails to ask list admins for approval and
attaches the original email. If this is a malicious html email, it can
manipulate the mailman mail.

May using iframes for every mime part be a solution?
