[Akonadi] [Bug 366238] KMail does not fetch mails from imap.kabelmail.de

2017-09-04 Thread Daniel Vrátil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366238

Please run the following commands from a terminal:

export KIMAP_LOGFILE=/tmp/kimap.log
akonadictl --instance test start

(using the --instance test switch ensures that anything we do will be
completely isolated from your main Akonadi setup).

Then start the Akonadi Console, and select the "test" instance. Use the
"Agents" tab to add a new IMAP resource and configure it to the server that
does not work and try to synchronize it.

Afterwards, you can run "akonadictl --instance test stop" in the terminal.

Now there should have a few /tmp/kimap.log.XXX files - make sure they don't
contain any sensitive information and attach them here, or send them to me
privately. The files contain logs of raw IMAP communication between the IMAP
resource and the IMAP server, hopefully, with that information, I'll be able to
figure out what our implementation does not like about those IMAP servers :)

[kmail2] [Bug 384359] New: Regression in 5.6.0 / 17.08 compared to 17.04.3: MySQL load always 100%, constant queries, extremely sluggisch behaviour

2017-09-04 Thread Gunter Ohrner

Bug ID: 384359
Summary: Regression in 5.6.0 / 17.08 compared to 17.04.3: MySQL
load always 100%, constant queries, extremely
sluggisch behaviour
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.6.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Since todays update, which pulled in KDE PIM 17.08, kMail really became
unusable.

I'm using a normal IMAP resource with a locally running Dovecot IMAP server
process.

Akonadi permanently executes quries as the following:

SELECT count(DISTINCT PimItemTable.id), sum(PimItemTable.size), sum(CASE WHEN (
SeenFlags.Flag_id IS NOT NULL OR IgnoredFlags.Flag_id IS NOT NULL ) THEN 1 ELSE
0 END) FROM PimItemTable LEFT JOIN PimItemFlagRelation AS SeenFlags ON (
PimItemTable.id = SeenFlags.PimItem_id AND SeenFlags.Flag_id = ? ) LEFT JOIN
PimItemFlagRelation AS IgnoredFlags ON ( PimItemTable.id =
IgnoredFlags.PimItem_id AND IgnoredFlags.Flag_id = ? ) INNER JOIN
CollectionPimItemRelation ON ( CollectionPimItemRelation.PimItem_id =
PimItemTable.id ) WHERE ( CollectionPimItemRelation.Collection_id = ? )

constantly loads the disk (Samsung 840 EVO SSD), lets the mysqld process eat
100% CPU (with the corresponding power consumption and fan noises...) and
reacts very, very slowly in general. (E.g. moving messages takes several 10
minutes, opening folders often also does.)

kMail/Aknoadi already had severe performance problems before, which made
working with it a trial of patience (See bug 338571, bug 352604), but this is
an all-new quality now... (And also a new bug, as contrary to the other ones
the background activity is not directly visible/represented in the UI - except
by it not being responsive.)

Using Kmail 5.5.2 from Opensuse Leap 42.3 repositories: typing CTRL-A will
either select nothing at all, select the content of the mail in preview pane,
or select all mails in the header pane as it used to do.

Shortcut hasn't been touched and is still configured to select all messages.

Not really sure if it is the same bug, though, as I never got all folders to be
selected.

   Product: akregator
   Version: 5.6.0

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: internal browser
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: vishn...@gmail.com

Currently, the text displayed is black on a white background.

It would be nice if in Settings > Appearance, there were options for:
