Status in linux source package in Yakkety:

Bug description:
My X1Carbon becomes quite laggy, the cursor hangs for a few seconds
and then resumes while my system is compiling some code, or lets says
PyCharm is indexing things or Android Studio is compiling some code. I
was using 4.4 on Xenial a few days ago and everything was working just
fine. Installed Yakkety and this issue happens.

  TEST CASE:
  `stress -c 4` <-- that results in system slowness.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1627108] Re: X1Carbon comes to a crawl during high CPU usage tasks

2016-10-07 Thread Omer Akram
As notified on on IRC, that is a good kernel.

The issue is easy to reproduce on an X1 Carbon just run `stress -c 4`
and within a few seconds mouse starts to lag and everything becomes
slow.

** Description changed:

My X1Carbon becomes quite laggy, the cursor hangs for a few seconds and
then resumes while my system is compiling some code, or lets says
PyCharm is indexing things or Android Studio is compiling some code. I
was using 4.4 on Xenial a few days ago and everything was working just
fine. Installed Yakkety and this issue happens.
+
+ TEST CASE:
+ `stress -c 4` <-- that results in system slowness.
+

I will downgrade the kernel and see if that mitigates the issue.

That's a good kernel build. Seems there are multiple builds in there, so
I tested 201610061038 which is newer.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1627108] Re: X1Carbon comes to a crawl during high CPU usage tasks

2016-10-05 Thread Omer Akram
Ok, that is a good kernel. My test is `stress -c 4` and it works fine
i.e. system performance does not degrade.

So I tested linux 4.8 final and the regression still exists. On another
note I also tested linux 4.7 and the issue does not exist there.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1627108] [NEW] X1Carbon comes to a crawl during high CPU usage tasks

2016-09-23 Thread Omer Akram
Public bug reported:

My X1Carbon becomes quite laggy, the cursor hangs for a few seconds and
then resumes while my system is compiling some code, or lets says
PyCharm is indexing things or Android Studio is compiling some code. I
was using 4.4 on Xenial a few days ago and everything was working just
fine. Installed Yakkety and this issue happens.

I will downgrade the kernel and see if that mitigates the issue.

Title:
X1Carbon comes to a crawl during high CPU usage tasks

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
My X1Carbon becomes quite laggy, the cursor hangs for a few seconds
and then resumes while my system is compiling some code, or lets says
PyCharm is indexing things or Android Studio is compiling some code. I
was using 4.4 on Xenial a few days ago and everything was working just
fine. Installed Yakkety and this issue happens.

I will downgrade the kernel and see if that mitigates the issue.

Title:
Continuous skipping of audio track after reconnecting bluetooth to Car

Status in bluez package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In my car I am seeing a very weird issue with bluetooth playback.
After connecting with car bluetooth the second time, the audio
playback from my phone in the car speakers starts to skip.

I am sure not everyone will be able to reproduce this bug with the
below steps but still I should mentions them.

  1. Connect mobile bluetooth to the car and play a track
Verify: it plays the track fine.
  2. Disconnect the bluetooth from the phone and make sure it actually gets
disconnected from the car.
  3. Re-enable bluetooth and connect to the car.

Now when I play the sound track it keeps skipping and I can't really
  hear much of the song.

I have attached hcidump, syslog and 'hcitool lq'.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1324678] [NEW] [Nexus 4] Earpiece volume too high as compared to Android

2014-05-29 Thread Omer Akram
Public bug reported:

The earpiece volume during a call is too high on my nexus 4, feels like
the earpiece may even burst. That is not a problem on Android. So I
believe the setting needs some adjustment on the lower level.

rsalveti: What you mean is basically that we might need to tune the
volume when enabling voice call (earpiece).

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1273629] Re: HSP fails on Ubuntu Touch [Bluetooth headset does not work]

2014-05-21 Thread Omer Akram
** Summary changed:

+ HSP fails on Ubuntu Touch [Bluetooth headset does not work]

Title:
HSP fails on Ubuntu Touch [Bluetooth headset does not work]

Status in “bluez” package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
When on Ubuntu Touch, HSP consistently fails to route any audio to the
  paired audio device.

  bluez-test-device create BT address
  bluez-test-audio connect BT address

The above should create and pair a detected (in discoverable mode)
bluetooth device, by default setting it up for HSP.

The following excerpt from syslog on my mako shows the issue, with a
bluetooth headset device failing to bring up HSP -- pulseaudio can
acquire the first transport, but never release it:
