[Bug 365913] [NEW] Kubuntu 9.04 does not lock screen after resume from suspend-to-ram, posing a security problem

2009-04-24 Thread Sandeep
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 9.04
Release:9.04
Codename: jaunty

kde4-config -v
Qt: 4.5.0
KDE: 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2)
kde4-config: 1.0

Resuming from suspend-to-ram does not lock screen. This is a serious security
problem in real life, where just opening your laptop cover will give the
intruder access to the desktop.
I do not know if there is a setting somewhere that will change this, but
screen-lock-on-resume needs to be enabled by default ASAP

[Bug 337974] Re: Kaffeine cannot find xine_part.desktop

2009-04-24 Thread frimann jonasson

I've fixed this typing:
sudo cp /usr/share/services/xine_part.desktop /opt/kde3/share/services/

It seems that kaffeine can't find xine_part.desktop in the old kde3
place after upgrading to the new kdelibs4c2a which are compiled with
/opt/kde3 as prefix.

That worked for me, thanks.

[Bug 366421] [NEW] systemsettings crashes and causes the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

2009-04-24 Thread ekkehard
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

Just upgraded to Kubuntu 9.4 today.
When run from the KDE Application Launcher, System Settings reproducibly
crashes silently without bringing up any window at all (not even KDE Crash
Handler).

systemsettings info:

systemsettings:
  Installed: 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu2
  Version table:

When run in a terminal window, the following output is created (also
reproducibly) and the KDE Crash Handler is started (no useful backtrace as
there are no symbols)

[Bug 306056] Re: Firefox doesn't close properly - gtk-qt-engine

2009-04-24 Thread Kalinda
I have a workaround for this bug, although I'm unsure if Ubuntu has the
needed package for it since it came from the Arch Linux forums.

Anyway, instead of telling the GTK-QT-Engine to use the same as KDE,
download and install the Oxygen GTK theme and set it to that instead. It
kills this problem and still looks pretty much the same.

I hope this works for you guys.

[Bug 366457] [NEW] KDE webdavs ioslave no longer works - doesn't send authorization header

2009-04-24 Thread toga98
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdelibs-data

I use the KDE webdavs ioslave to connect to a webdav service. After
upgrading to Jaunty (KDE 4.2.2), the webdavs ioslave no longer works.
The site I connect to uses basic authentication. I checked the webdav
ioslave and experienced the same problem. Looking at the transaction
with Wireshark, It appears that the ioslave is not sending the
Authorization header on the request following the first 401 response.

Konqueror error page includes the following text:

The requested operation could not be completed
File or Folder Does Not Exist

Details of the Request:
 URL: webdav://qa.vipasuite.com/_files/
 Protocol: webdav
Date and Time: Friday 24 April 2009 7:10 pm
 Additional Information: qa.vipasuite.com

Description:
The specified file or folder /_files/ does not exist.

Possible Causes:
You may have encountered a bug in the program.

Possible Solutions:
Update your software to the latest version. Your distribution should provide
tools to update your software.
Contact your appropriate computer support system, whether the system
administrator, or technical support group for further assistance.
