I haven't received any of Jeri's emails for several years in spite of having
her in my contacts and putting her in my approved list. They don't even go
into my junk/spam folder


Like several other ISPs, AOL is filtered out by mine so I don't receive any
mail from AOL addresses and there's nothing they will do about it. Just have
to check the archives for Jeri's posts.

I also no longer get Jeri's emails, and I do check my spam folder every day
or two because this is a 'clean account' and I'm not yet getting genuine
spam. For a while I'd tell my spam folder they were "Not Spam" and move
them out of there, but now they've stopped showing up altogether. Avital
told me that emails from the AOL domain are routinely filtered out by some
email services--maybe gmail has taken to discarding them altogether.

I've also been finding lately that other posts have been missing, although
I haven't been able to find a pattern.

My solution has been to subscribe to both the individual message list and
the digest. I read the posts that I do get as they come in, and I scan the
digests for posts that I haven't seen. I do wish people would trim their
posts, however. I don't think it's a sufficient excuse that you use an iPad
or gmail or whatever--learn to use your tools! There, grumpiness over.

Hi All,

For some reason, I am no longer receiving Jeri's emails.  Some time ago I
had to set up a filter so that her emails didn't get sent to my spam folder
- it was only her emails that gmail was directing to my spam folder at the
time.  Now I don't get any emails from Jeri in my inbox, or my spam.  I
just looked at the archives and notice that I missed a whole thread about a
Festive Costume Auction.  So this time I didn't receive the response emails
from Annette and Catherine as well.  Is anyone else experiencing this or
does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I've checked my settings but
the only filter I have in place is for all '(lace)' emails to be sent to my
inbox - that was what fixed the problem when Jeri's emails started being
sent to spam.

Yes Sue, you are lucky especially to have mail delivered on a Saturday!! 
Don't think there have been Saturday deliveries since I've been in Canada 
(1977).


Malvary in Ottawa, Canada where we have our first cold weekend of this 
season.  About -9c with wind chill of  -14c.  We had a dump of snow on 
Monday last and more forecast for Sunday going over into Monday.

[lace] Christmas Exchange

Today must be a lucky day. I received not one, but three gorgeous exchanges!  
They were 

1. A lovely tatted Victorian 'bauble' and a hand made card from Dorcas Newkirk! 
Thanks Dorcas!! It's gorgeous!

2. Two beautiful cross stitch Christmas coasters from Sheila Brown (who 
incidentally, is expecting her 4th great grandchild soon)!

And last but not least, a wonderful hand made card with a lovely Bedfordshire 
style snowflake on the front from Mira Guzelj! 

Aren't I the lucky one??
