Re: [lace] test

2017-01-16 Thread Gon Homburg
Hi Annelore,

There are 100 patterns of every week an edging or an insertion on my website
www.kloskant.com .
So we did it almost 2 years, but decided 100 edgings or insertions were enough
and we ended the series.
I will keep them for a while on my website and will tell you if I decide to
remove them.

Happy lacing,

Gon Homburg from a cold Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It is cold or it rains, so
I did not get a change to got to the Light Festival in town.

Re: [lace] test - and what's the biggest/most difficult piece of lace you ever made

2014-01-18 Thread Beth Marshall
Thanks Diane, I'd been wondering whether the arachne messages were
getting through myself - think we must have exhausted the recent topics
and everyone's gone back to making lace instead of emailing about it...
or gone back to work no time for lace or emails :-(

lace content: the biggest (in terms of working hours, at least) piece of
bobbin lace I ever made was the Les Lauriers design from the
Fouriscot/Arpin Cluny de Brioude book - made as a gift for friends'
special anniversary so I no longer have the piece itself, if I can find
the photo of it I'll see if I can manage to put it on the Arachne
flicker page.

Re: [lace] test?

2009-01-18 Thread Beth Marshall
Hi Roberta and all

I think the list really is that quiet - I haven't seen a message since
Thursday or Friday.

I discovered yesterday that my next-door-neighbour is descended from a long
line of lacemakers from Yardley Hastings near the border of
Northamptonshire/Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire. Sue doesn't make lace
herself, but her daughters learnt a bit as children from one of their
grandmothers and Sue still has one of their pillows bobbins in her attic.

 Hi all,
I just haven't heard from anyone for over two days starting to get
concerned. Is the list that quiet? Or have I been dropped somehow?
Talk to you soon I hope!

Good morning! Thanks to everyone that got back to me.
I really did miss everyone. Glad that it wasn't just me.
Beth, how exciting about your neighbor!
Hope you get to check out all the fun stuff that Sue has in
her attic!
Thanks again for all of you that got back to me!
Take care!

Re: [lace] Test - sorry

2003-10-11 Thread Sue Babbs
Thanks to everyone who reassured me that I am still on Arachne.

I have been to Ithaca in previous years and it is a wonderful weekend. Sadly I
couldn't fit it into my
schedule this year.

My computer has collapsed and been resuscitated, but I've just realized
that I haven't seen messages from the
lists for a while, so I am just running a test to see if I can send to the
list. Sorry to do this. I
appreciate the list may just be in quiet mode
