[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64984] EDITING: Creating table with GUI - table could not be saved

Hello Robert, *,
I have switched the version field to 4.1.0.0.beta1 :) Was it not available,
when you opened this bug ;? And I set it to regression, as it was possible in
4.0.3. If I am wrong here, feel free to change it back ... ;)

As I have found the bug first and reported it to the Germanophone discuss list,
I want to confirm Robert's observation ... :( I have tested it in two ways:
1. File - New - Database
2. Click through the Database Wizard until you can finish it.
3. Give it a name (and change the path to save it, if you want ... ;) ).
4. Choose either to create a table in design mode or with the help of the
wizard (it does not matter, which one you choose)
5. For simplicity's sake, choose to create it in design mode
6. Enter Name, Address and City (or whatever you want ... ;) ) in the
field names column.
7. Either click on the save icon or choose File - Save or press CTRL+S.
8. Confirm to create a primary key (here I was missing the possibility to save
the table ... :( ).
9. Click on the save icon again or use CRTL+S. Nothing happens ... :(

You could also try to close it via ALT+F4. You get the dialog, that the
file was changed and if you want to save it. If you confirm to save it, nothing
happens ... :(

Expected behaviour:
LO should ask for a name for the table and save it.

Confirmed with
OS: Debian Testing AMD64
LO Parallel installed Version: 4.1.0.0.beta1
Build ID: 3a2c2d2417101e45fe07cfd8358acf2204a98f3 (with LO Version 4.0.3.3
(Build ID: 0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539) it is possible to create a
table)
Java (if this is important): java version 1.6.0_27
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.12.5) (6b27-1.12.5-1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode)

Sorry for the inconvenience and have a nice day
Thomas.

Hi,

This is fixed with LibreOffice 4.0.3 and there is only 3.6.7 series left in
3.6.x.

I'm not sure this will merge 3.6.x series.

https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=51296

Maybe someone should mark this bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40457] ACCESSIBILITY: Make table captions above tables the default option [accessibility]

2013-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40457

--- Comment #3 from chtfn stephane.guil...@gmail.com ---
This is still the case for LO 4.0.3

Another motivation for that change is that in most scientific publications,
captions for tables are situated above the table (as opposed to figures).

Giving the user the choice by letting them use the position drop-down menu
(it is curretly greyed-out) should be a minimum (why is it greyed-out at the
moment?).

Classification: Unclassified
OS: All

Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
Hi,

With 4.0.3 release, the security setting for opening hyperlinks with
Ctrl-Click, Calc has missing warning on mouseover or on clicks.

It should warn the user that Ctrl+click is required to open hyperlinks.

This is a very important notice, as we see there is lots of bug reported saying
Hyperlinks are not working after 4.0.3. We cannot expect everybody to see
detailed changelogs.

Also this is a usability problem. We have corporate users, and such hyperlinks
are widely used in their spreadsheets, having such problems will cause
marketing problems there if it is persisted on more stable releases 4.0.4-5
etc..

Steps to reproduce:
1. See that security setting for hyperlinks activated on Tools-Options-Security
- Security Options (ctrl-click required for hyperlink)
2. Create an hyperlink in Calc
3. Try to click it

Current behavior:

No warning provided that Ctrl+Click to open hyperlink or it is required

Expected behavior:

Warning and guidance is provided like Writer. Also additional information to
disable this setting may be provided.

Best regards,
Zeki

when opening a .xls file with graphic with anchored to cell this is interpreted
as to page.

It must be a regression as 4.0.3.3 respects the anchoring to cell in the file.

The same file saved as .ods shows anchoring to cell.

To reproduce:

create empty spreadsheet and insert a picture.

anchor picture to cell (I still prefer that the default always would be to cell
and not to page in Scalc).

Save file as .ods

Save the file as .xls

Close the file.

Open file .ods and the anchoring will be to cell

Open file .xls and the anchoring will be to page.

Expected behavior:

Anchored to cell.

Going to Format Area doesn't result in a crash. Therefore I mark it as an UI

Hi lennart,

thanks for your report!

(In reply to comment #0)

Expected behavior: Use the actual page format used in the pdf for each page.
(Alternatively use the biggist page format found in the pdf file.)

Since PDF files are imported in Draw, and Draw currenly does not support
multiple page formats in one file I think we have a problem here...

Note: Unfortunately I can not attach the pdf since I do not have the right
 to distribute it.

You could have made a simple dummy file ;)

Set this one to New, enhancement etc.
Will look for an issue with Draw for multiple page sizes

however... when I open the .doc that you attached in 4.0.2, I see the extra

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64701] EDITING: enhancement: 1 - add to the context menu for comments: EDIT / 2 - add the initial of the person adds comment

2013-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64701

As per Joel's request:

Assumption in both cases: a cell comment exists already

Currently
1 - right click cell
2 - select SHOW
3 - click into cell and do changes
4 - right click cell
5 - deselect SHOW
6 - click to next working spot

Enhancement request
1 - right click cell
2 - select EDIT (the new function opens the cell and places cursor at the end
of the text already in the cell) and do changes
3 - click to the next working spot and cell comment closes automatically

I hope the request is now clearer.

I also can not reproduce a crash using Mac OSX 10.8.3 with LibreOffice 4.1.0
beta 1 (and of course 4.0.3).

But I see some major formatting issues, which is definitely a regression.
Example: The section titles are cropped (letters are on top of each other).

@Philip: You mind reporting a separate bug report for these formatting issues?

Kind regards,
Joren

  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release

Steps how to reproduce with 4.0.3 on WIN:
Open new Spreadsheet document » Format Column A as Currency (German €), » Type
1234,56 + Enter » 1234,56 € appears » Click on cell A2 » ctrl+c » click on
cell A2 » Paste Icon in Standard Toolbar » Paste as Plain Text » Will be
inserted as string 1.234,56 € (left adjusted) instead of number value.
Same if you type cell A1 to a Writer document as plain text and then only
Number 1234,56 back to A3 (as plain text). That's very annoying if you have
to copy paste many numbers from text documents. Worked fine with 366

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65003] New: Cannot change Outline Template's format

2013-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65003

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65003
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Cannot change Outline Template's format
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: m.fa...@gmx.de
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

I try to adapt the outline templates Level 1 to level 9. However, system does
not allow me negative intendions

Reproduction
- Press F11
- right click on any of the hierarchical levels (Gliederung 1-9) and choose
change
- goto Intendions-Tab (Einzüge und Abstände)
- insert a negative number in field before text
- System inserts 0,00cm instead

Function:
standard format of levels is
- level 1
  - level 2
- level 3

Desired behaviour:
it should be possible to generate formats likes this
- LEVEL 1
- level 2
. level 3
i.e. left-align all levels and differentiate only by other format options

Steps to reproduce:
Download attachments and extract
Create new filter in Writer (Tools - XML Filter Settings, add own Filter name,
Aplication LibreOffice Writer, add own Name of file type, File extension should
be xml and in tab Transformation for XSLT for import select bug-transform.xsl
from attachment)
Test XSLTS with xml-cp1250.xml and xml-utf.xml

The first one will fail with General input output error.
The second one will success with Writer showing written text Test.

This xsl filter actually do not extract data from imported data, will always
show the same text Test. Its just simplified example, but the same apply for
filters that try extract something.

xml-utf.xml is encoded in UTF-8

Hi Cor

thanks for the fast reply.

However that does not help. Although I can change font size, bullet type and
positive indent (i.e. move the text to the right), I cannot change to a
negative indent (move the text to the left).

A Level 2 does have a system indent to the right which seems to be not
changeable.

Any other ideas?

Hi M.

As far as I can tell, it's a bit hard to achieve. Can you try the following:
- View Master Slide master
- select one of the lines
- choose Format Bullets and Numbering
in that dialog you can set the indent, but in my experience it is not straight
forward...

Maybe now that there is Sidebar from Symphony, Find Replace could be inserted
in it? This way it would be unobtrusive while searching/replacing; the good use
of sidebar consisting in not covering/hovering over the main text body (an irk
in MS Word). Ale the options from Alternative F R transferred to the new
functionality. It would be a huge project, but rewarding. Thank you.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64985] Dynamic Report Not Populating Data with old Report-Engine

2013-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

You're absolutely right. I did not even know there was a difference between the
two. I just installed LibreOffice using the Software Center, and that was the
default functionality when a report is created in Base.

There was another package in the software center that contained the actual
report builder, and it works as intended. I just did not know to go out and
look for and install that package as well.

As information, this was a fresh install of the latest version of Ubuntu,
13.04. It comes with most of the LibreOffice suite installed, but not Base. I
opened up the Software Center, and I installed Base. Those were the steps I
took to get a version of Base running on my machine using the older report
engine.

This is by no means fixed. I had to give a talk today, and everything was fine
when I double-checked half an hour before. So I saved the presentation (LO
4.0.3.1), shut down the laptop, and went to the lecture room. When I started
the presentation much to my (unpleasant) surprise, two animated images on the
second slide appeared empty with the infamous symbol in the upper left corner.
This continued throughout the talk, and (if I am not mistaken) not only for
images which were inserted by copy-and-paste. I consider this a showstopper.

Hi m,
thanks for trying again. Still one could do it via the menu, but the whole
thing is in need for some improvement.

So I rewrite your whole summary and set some markers ...
Hope you can agree to that ;)

Cheers - Cor

Windows 4.0.3.3 appears to be okay with some light testing using a new document
with various images (saving, closing, re-opening, repeat) as well as old ones
that had problems in the past. Will check Linux shortly.

I don't think this should be closed as quickly as it was, as a Professor I gave
up on using Impress long ago as it was not stable enough for normal use. Many
people are probably in the same boat as I am and have resorted to other
alternatives, so the pool of people actively testing this now will be smaller.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: p.stol...@googlemail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Hi,

LibreOffice Version 4.0:build-302 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:302))
hpcups 3.13.4
opensuse 12.3
Printer: HP Officejet Pro 8100

In the LibreOffice writer printer dialogue I have to use the option ignore
instead of long edge default to use duplex printing.

The hplip-teams means this is a libreoffice-problem:
It is the problem with the LibreOffice application. It doesn't somehow
recognise the duplex options provided in the PPD. Where as other
application are able to.

Thanks

Peter Stolz

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64998] FORMATTING: Copy / Paste as unformatted text does not respect existing cell formatting

2013-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64998

--- Comment #2 from Bugcruncher libobugcrunc...@gmail.com ---
Hi Cor Nouws, I think that that is something different. Edit » Paste Special
(only text and numbers checked) works fine, but
Paste Icon in Standard Toolbar » Paste as Plain Text
shows the problem, also after I pasted 1 time successfully with Edit » Paste
Special.
This happens since I updated from 3.6.6 to 4.0.3
The strange thing that the cell to where I pasted still shows the correct
currency formatting, but as reported the number looking string is left aligned,
and when I do a calculation (=A2/2) I get error #VALUE!.
And it's definitively pasted as string, for A2 I see 1234,56 € instead of
1234,56 in the Input Line. Because of thi
May be I should mention: German UI, German Localization, WIN7

For me it looks as if in 366 the Icon - Plain text has enhanced number
recognition (or how it might be called in English) = ON by default for a
single cell, and OFF in 366. At least I see when I try with source contents in
A1:A2 and Paste that as plain text to A3(:A4): With enr = ON I get currency
values, with enr = OFF I get the unexpected string result. And it seems 4.0.3
has enr = OFF by default, what might have been different in 3.6 and before (at
least I never had to think about that).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65009] New: EDITING: Disabled AutoCalculate does not disable autocalculation of diagrams

2013-05-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65009

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65009
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Disabled AutoCalculate does not disable
autocalculation of diagrams
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: cson...@halmai.hu
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:

1.
make a small spreadsheet. For example:
A1: 1
A2: =2*A1

2.
Create a diagram from the two cells. That is, select them and apply Insert =
Chart menu item and finish it by the Finish button.

3.
Got to cell A1 by clicking on it.

4.
Disable Autocalculation by removing the tick from the menu item under Tools =
Cell Content = AutoCalculate

5,
Change A1 from 1 to 10. Check if Autocalculation is really off: A2 remains 2
instead of changing to 20. That's OK.

Current behaviour:
The diagram is changing to indicate values 10 and 2.

Expected behaviour:
The diagram should not be refreshed and should indicate the original values 1
and 2.

Explanation: in case of having diagram that depends on huge amount of cells,
well, it requires pretty much CPU time to refresh the diagram. I suppose the
goal of disabling AutoCalculation is to avoid repeated background calculation
and make the editing more comfortable. The fact that diagrams are recalculated
in case of each cell modification breaks the work.

That's why I think diagrams should not be refreshed if AutoCalculation is
switched off. Or, at least, it should be possible to switch off diagram
recalculation in a separate menu item.

Thanks.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
