Regardless, I just now tried a third way, with the same problem happening (loss of only a few rectangular shapes, as described before). Here now is my third way: Using the Edit menu exclusively, I "Select All", then "Copy", and then open a new sheet. Again using the Edit menu, I "Paste" into the already-selected A1 cell.
