That way we could keep the amount of extra work for the use case where you just want to download and inspect later to a minimum, while satisfying the people who expect Save As and a file chooser. When I'm downloading -say- pictures, I hit Save as... so I can choose where exactly to save this stuff (say: ~/pics/). I've been using sid's epiphany and I miss the Download button, but maybe it's just MY use case, MY expected behaviour. Sometimes I only want to get the stuff to my laptop, to my incoming dir, I don't really care about it in that moment. And sometimes I want to save it somewhere specifically. I don't think neither of the cases should exclude the other. Cosimo queried me about this on IRC this afternoon. As I have never seen this
before I started out by suspected EphyNodeView ;) When I quickly read over
that code I saw some button-press handlers connected to the GtkTreeView. These
were not checking on which window the events were received -- this stroke me as
very suspicious. As I was not on a Linux machine this afternoon I could not
verify this until now. And it seems that my first suspicion is right ;)
If I patch EphyNodeView with the following, the problem goes away for me:
