Severity: normal

Hi,

I don't know if this problem is a problem of ant, maybe reassign.

ant searches tools.jar in /usr/lib/kaffe/pthreads/lib/tools.jar and the
j2sdk1.3 package from blackdown places this file there too.

Bug#336470: eclipse-sdk: eclipse crashes on startup with sablevm

2005-10-30 Thread Timo Lindfors
Package: eclipse-sdk
Version: 3.1.1-3
Severity: normal

(Note: I'm not sure if I should report this against sablevm or
eclipse.)

I just noticed that eclipse was finally added to debian (yay!) and
went ahead to test it. After sudo apt-get install eclipse-sdk I
tried to run eclipse as a normal user and got the following output

searching for compatible vm...
  testing /usr/lib/jvm/java-gcj...not found
  testing /usr/lib/kaffe/pthreads...not found
  testing /usr/lib/sablevm...found
sablevm: INTERNAL ERROR (source file invoke_interface.c, function
AttachCurrentThread, line 497): todo

Eclipse first opened a dialog and asked for workspace location. After
that it spent a minute or two drawing some sort of progress bar and
then finally sablevm printed that INTERNAL ERROR text and eclipse
showed a dialog with

JVM terminated. Exit code=1
/usr/lib/sablevm/bin/java
-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni
-Dgnu.gcj.precompiled.db.path=/var/lib/gcj-4.0/classmap.db
-Dosgi.locking=none
-jar /usr/lib/eclipse/startup.jar
-os linux
-ws gtk
-arch x86
-launcher /usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse
-name Eclipse
-showsplash 600
-exitdata 1c8b0004
-install /usr/lib/eclipse
-vm /usr/lib/sablevm/bin/java
-vmargs
-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni
-Dgnu.gcj.precompiled.db.path=/var/lib/gcj-4.0/classmap.db
-Dosgi.locking=none
-jar /usr/lib/eclipse/startup.jar

I checked that upstream sablevm versions 1.11.1, 1.11.2 and 1.11.3
have just todo in AttachCurrentThread and sablevm 1.12 seems to have
a real implementation there.

Could sablevm be removed from /etc/eclipse/java_home until debian has
at least sablevm 1.12?

Tried it again just for the heck of it, and it's still not starting.
Doesn't start from the command line either - it mentions that it finds
the java-gcj as a jvm and gives me the same error.

Thankyou,

Bug#336285: libswt3.1-gtk-java: Please change dependency for mozilla-browser

On 10/29/05, Michael Bergbauer [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
libswt3.1-gtk-java depends on mozilla-browser. In case you've installed

Isn't it possible to change the dependency so that other web browsers
that are already installed also fullful the depency?

Should be fixed in the next release, so that you can use Firefox
instead of the mozilla-browser.

Bug#336536: Strange dependencies in eclipse-base

2005-10-30 Thread Marcin Dębicki
Package: eclipse-base
Severity: important

I don't really know why eclipse-base depends only on gij while it can
work with Sun Java as well. package should depend on
java-virtual-machine, java-compiler, java2-compiler or any package
providing java compiler and runtime environment. I don't see many
advantages of installing two or more virtual machines for java
