Package: vuze
Version: 3.1.1.0-4
Severity: wishlist

Upstream has released vuze 4.2.0.2 in April 9, 2009. Since Debian's
version is from July 1, 2008,
a LOT of enhancements and bugs has been solved with this latest version.

It would be great if this can be upgraded to latest one.

There're some packages made at Ubuntu's PPA.

https://edge.launchpad.net/~knorr/+archive/ppa/+files/azureus_4.2.0.2-0ubuntu0~knorr_source.changes
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/27893571/azureus_4.2.0.2-0ubuntu1~ppa1_source.changes

I'm linking this report with downstream
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/azureus/+bug/321922

so maybe one of the packagers can step up and provide a proper Debian
package.

Thanks in advance.

I'm reporting this from Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 2, but i've checked in
several ways including rmadison and the latest version is 3.1.1.0 and
there's no requesting upgrade bug already filled.

Package: azureus
Version: 3.1.1.0-3.1
Severity: important

Hello,

I've installed and run azureus, and the first thing that it did was to
download an Updater plugin and activating it.

I later found a file called Azureus4.0.0.4.jar automatically added to
the download queue, and once it had downloaded, azureus prompted me to
be restarted, and I had to click Restart later to avoid it doing it
automatically.

So, uhm, without me doing absolutelly anything besides starting the
problem, it goes on without asking and downloads code from somewhere
unspecified then runs it?

No, I mean, seriously?

I feel like as a user I should at the very least be asked first,
possibly with an explanation of what is being downloaded, where from and
why, and how is the downloade authenticated.

Ideally however, by defaults software updates should come through Debian
only, and automatic update gadgets (such as Firefox also has) should be
explicitly turned on by the user.

Ciao,

Enrico

Bug#541343: pdfsam-console - output files not readable

2009-08-13 Thread Steffen Moeller
Package: pdfsam
Version: 1.1.3-1
Severity: serious

Hello,

when invoking pdfsam-console regularly, I just get no error but unreadable
files.
When following the instructions from pdfsam-console -h, I get the following:

$ java -jar /usr/share/pdfsam/lib/pdfsam-console-2.0.5e.jar  concat
tmp/shell/*.pdf a.pdf
log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger
(org.pdfsam.console.business.parser).

log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

 and unreadable files :)

Any suggestions? I can forward the files should that be informative, but I
presume
my problem is just very much file-invariant.

Cheers,

Steffen

Package: azureus

The download directory of Azureus is, in my case, on a fat32 partition. When
a download begins, azureus spends a very long time (5 - 20 minutes)
allocating space in the download directory. The time required seems to go
up faster than linearly with the size of the file to be downloaded.

While azureus is allocating, the load average of the machine goes to
ridiculous levels (at least 10). Everything (mouse, keyboard, the onscreen
clock) freezes. Sometimes I cannot even go to a VC with control-alt-F2;
sometimes I can, but I have to wait for a while until the system reacts to
the keyboard command. There are no error messages. After the waiting period
is over, the download begins. The load average remains fairly high (1 or so)
and according to top, java consumes about 25% CPU; this remains so until
the download is over.

I then discovered the option Tools - Options - Files - Enable
incremental file creation. With this, a download does not start with an
allocating phase. The download begins at once. At least, azureus says so;
but it is not true. By doing ls -al on the download directory I can see that
the complete file size is still being allocated in advance (with the same
effects as before: allocation proceeds very slowly, ridiculously high load
average, freeze of all processes including the download itself, which
remains at zero bytes until the allocation is finally finished).

This penomenon is fairly recent, but I could not say with which version of
azureus it started.

When you put the mouse cursor anywhere in the Azureus window, a tooltip
message always appears:

Of course the user has no idea what this could possibly mean. It does not
seem to do any harm, but it is annoying. It is probably some debug
instrumentation from Eclipse (the system that, it seems, Azureus was
developed with).

Package: azureus
Severity: wishlist

I have a headless server in my closet that's running 24x7, which
cannot be said of my workstation. It would be really nice if it was
possible to run the network part of Azureus permanently on the server,
and have the UI connect to it instead of to localhost:6880. That way I
could keep seeding even though my workstation is switched off or
 whatever.

(An init script would be appreciated if such a feature was added.)

I think you could achieve this:

To run Azureus from console command line (useful for running the web UI
on a headless / XWindows-less machine), you'll need these additional
jars in the classpath:
log4j.jar
commons-cli.jar

TO RUN: Place all the jars in the same directory and run
java -jar Azureus2.jar --ui=console

Hope it helps. I'm closing it now.

say i have azureus on a different workspace because i don't really need to
see what is going on in the window and i click on a torrent file in my
web browser, the azureus window will be brought to my current workspace.

i would rather that the torrent just automatically get added into
azureus and do its thing without bothering me.

Hi Maintainer,

rejected:
src/test/resources contains several .jar files
(e.g.
unit/install-file-with-pomFile-test/target/maven-install-test-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar)
containing Test.class for which the source seems to be missing.

Bug#541416: ant-doc: missing API javadocs

2009-08-13 Thread brian m. carlson
Package: ant-doc
Version: 1.7.1-3
Severity: important

/usr/share/doc/ant-doc/manual/api points to ../javadocs, but no such
directory exists. Since the Apache website does not have the ant API
documentation, this seriously impacts the usefulness of this package.
