This was a default behavior change in the package due to a fix for

Bug#542762: missing replaces-breaks with libmodello-java

2009-08-21 Thread Robert Collins
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

package: modello-maven-plugin
version: 1.0.1-1

With libmodello-java1.0-alpha-21-1 installed:

sudo dpkg -i libmodello-maven-plugin-java_1.0.1-1_all.deb
Unpacking libmodello-maven-plugin-java (from
libmodello-maven-plugin-java_1.0.1-1_all.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing libmodello-maven-plugin-java_1.0.1-1_all.deb
(--install):
 trying to overwrite `/usr/share/java/modello-maven-plugin.jar', which
is also in package libmodello-java

modello-maven-plugin should have a replaces + breaks clause for
libmodello-java to tell dpkg that it cannot unpack modello-maven-plugin
without migrating this file to it.

if modello-maven-plugin 1.0.1 is compatible with the rest of
libmodello-java 1.0-alpha, then just a replaces clause is sufficient.

ecj override disparity

2009-08-21 Thread Archive Administrator
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

libecj-java-gcj_3.5+20090820-1_i386.deb: package says section is java, override
says libs.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you already filed a bug
and have not received a response yet, please ignore this mail. Your bug
needs to be processed by a human and will be in due course, but until
then the installer will send these automated mails; sorry.]

Debian's alternatives system exists for a reason, and should not be
circumvented by packages choosing their own Java VM. Unless there's a
compelling reason to keep /etc/eclipse/java_home around, Eclipse should
default to using whichever Java is specified in /etc/alternatives.

For those who may wish to run Eclipse under alternate VMs (and who
already do so), Eclipse could use a configuration option, flag, or
environment variable to choose a different Java VM.

I've managed to test the current azureus release (4.2.0.4-1) in the
following environments with only ipv4 configured:

- public: NAT OK.
- gateway [CentOS iptables-shorewall]: NAT OK
- gateway [W2K3 ISA Server 2006]: NAT OK (had to tweak udp incoming).
- gateway [router]: working NAT OK.

So I'll probaby close the bug again soon, since it's definitely an issue
with your network configuration, and neither with azureus nor the
packaging work.
