Bug#591109: libfreemarker-java: FTBFS: cannot find symbol PyJavaInstance

 Hi Nicolas,

you have changed the jython package in a way which does not follow the
Debian Java Policy. The package ships a tree of class files instead of
a jar file as in Lenny.

   Hi Torsten,

I think you were confused by the .class files in the
/usr/share/jython/Lib directory. These class files are the result of
the byte-compilation of the Lib python files by the Jython compiler.
These files are completely and transparently handled by the Jython
interpreter much like the .pyo and .pyc files for Python. They are
not supposed to be directly accessed by users.

The Jython public API is included in the /usr/share/java/jython.jar
file, and I think it follows the Debian Java policy.

I think the real issue for libfreemarker-java is that the public API
for Jython has changed between Jython 2.2 and 2.5 and so the Jython wrapper
of freemarker needs to be ported to Jython 2.5.

BTW, you even ship Windows *.exe files. Please
 remove them.

You are right about the .exe files. I'll have a look at that. But I
wonder if that is not part of the Python distutil distribution.

 Regards,

Bug#591545: Removed package(s) from unstable

2010-08-04 Thread Debian Archive Maintenance
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

libhibernate-annotations-java | 3.4.0.GA+dak1-1 | source, all

--- Reason ---
ROM; obsolete, part of libhibernate3-java = 3.5
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 591...@bugs.debian.org.

Hi,

your package FTBFS everywhere:

| make: *** [ant-sanity-check] Error 1

Full build logs:
  https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=jffi

Sounds like your package would FTBFS on i386 as on any other
architecture, so filing as serious even though it's not literally
a regression.

  * New upstream release.
  * New libcommons-fileupload-java-doc package for Javadoc.
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.1:
- Add recommended get-orig-source target in d/rules.
  * d/dirs: Remove, uneeded.
  * Switch to maven-debian-helper for build:
- Drop all patches on old Ant build.
- Add maven-debian-helper to B-D.
- Drop ant from B-D.
  * Don't Depends on a JRE (not requested anymore by Java Policy for
libraries packages).

Override entries for your package:
libcommons-fileupload-java_1.2.2-1.dsc - source java
libcommons-fileupload-java_1.2.2-1_all.deb - optional java

Announcing to debian-devel-chan...@lists.debian.org

Your package contains new components which requires manual editing of
the override file. It is ok otherwise, so please be patient. New
packages are usually added to the override file about once a week.

You may have gotten the distribution wrong. You'll get warnings above
if files already exist in other distributions.

Bug#580160: groovy: stargGroovy can't find javac

2010-08-04 Thread Miguel Landaeta
tags 580160 + patch
thanks

groovy is unusable without a JDK.
Just adding a Depends on default-jdk solves this issue.

Please consider the attached patch.

Cheers,

Well, groovy source code is dynamically compiled to JVM bytecode
so I think a JDK must be present. The startGroovy script tries to
detect where in the system is installed javac.

I didn't noticed this bug before because I always install a JDK.

BTW, the patch don't apply cleanly on what is on svn because there
is an ongoing work to package groovy 1.7.4 but it is stalled because
jansi library it is not in Debian. I think I'm going to file an ITP for that
library.

Cheers,

update-alternatives --list hbase-conf /dev/null 21
update-alternatives --remove-all hbase-conf

A segmentation fault is probably not a bug in hbase.

Cheers,
Torsten

Bug#591654: zookeeper: package removal fails

Same as in hbase-daemons-common: not reproducible in a cowbuilder
chroot on i386 and probably not a bug in zookeeper when it runs
update-alternatives in prerm.

Hi Nicolas,

thanks for the explanation. I've removed the jython support from the

Hi,

your package FTBFS everywhere:
| dh_clean
| You must specify a valid ANT_HOME directory!
| make: *** [ant-sanity-check] Error 1

Full build logs:
  https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=jffi

Sounds like your package would FTBFS on i386 as on any other
architecture, so filing as serious even though it's not literally
a regression.

KiBi.
