Bug#846918: interface opens, but no menus and no action on button clicks

2016-12-04 Thread David Paleino
Package: jabref
Version: 2.10+ds-7
Severity: grave

Hello!

Wow, so long time no filing bugs to Debian, seems like a whole new experience :)

Ok, here's the fact: opening a freshly installed jabref, the splash screen
starts fine, the interface opens and everything is visible, but as soon as I
click on _any_ menu item or button in the toolbar, nothing happens (except
stacktraces in console).

Here you are:

Bug#650662: newer upstream version available

2011-12-01 Thread David Paleino
Package: junit4
Version: 4.8.2-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
I'm packaging a new version (0.40) of osmosis, and it needs a newer version of
junit (4.10). We still have 4.8 in the repositories, while 4.10 has been
released back in September.

Would you please update it?

Thanks,

a new version of osmosis (0.40) has been released, and it needs woodstox 4.1.2.
I see this bug has stalled for a while, do you have any plans on releasing
a newer woodstox in Debian? :)

Bug#577704: Confirming bug in libsurefire-java

2011-10-14 Thread David Paleino

I'm facing this too, ultimately causing a FTBFS in libtomcat-maven-plugin-java:

The strange thing is 2.4.3 seems mentioned nowhere:

I can't really understand what's going on here.

Bug#596420: not usable with maven -- /usr/share/maven-repo/ hierarchy missing

2010-09-11 Thread David Paleino
Package: libecj-java
Version: 3.5.1-1
Severity: normal

Hello,
as currently packaged, ecj is not usable (AFAICS, but I'm not really an expert)
from maven's pom.xml.

In fact, it's missing a /usr/share/maven-repo/ hierarchy.

AFAIUI, it should be:

/usr/share/maven-repo/org/eclipse/jdt/core/compiler/ecj/3.5.1/

, containing a symlink to the .jar in /usr/share/java/ and a .pom file.

Better yet would be also having a debian/ directory, sibling of the versioned
one.

Thank you,
David

@David: it can't be built with version 1.0? Have you tried that?

It builds fine (it seems). So, really your choice whether to upgrade it or
not :)

Bug#596352: New upstream version available

2010-09-10 Thread David Paleino
Package: libplexus-component-metadata-java
Version: 1.0~beta3.0.7-4
Severity: normal

Hello,
I'm trying to package geowebcache (ITP #), which in turn depends on many other
things not present in Debian. One of these is tomcat-maven-plugin. This depends
on plexus-component-metadata, version 1.5.1.
Upstream is at 1.5.4, and the Debian package is severely lacking behind. The
fault is to be found in the debian/watch file, which is tracking only 1.0-*.

Is there any chance to get this fixed? :)

Thank you,

liboauth-signpost-java is now a dependency of JSOM, a desktop

It looks like libjetty-extra-java is the culprit here. This package
provides jetty-client (which is what oauth-signpost requires, I
presume), but also other libraries related to application servers, which
in turn depend on libtomcat6-java, ant and lots of other stuff not
needed on a machine running JOSM.

You're right, marking the bug as confirmed.

Maybe you should consider choosing a different HTTP layer (according
to the package descriptoins, several are supported)

For the moment, I'll just downgrade the dependency on jetty to a Suggests.

or reassign this bug to libjetty-extra-java and ask for a a separate package
 with the HTTP client library.

It would be better to do that, I'm cloning this bug and reassigning it there.

Looking at the sources, it seems like my analysis was completely wrong. And I
can't even remember how I came to that conclusion :) (I remember seeing a
bool somewhere, but can't find it anymore.. :/)

In fact, asm's ClassWriter has an init method accepting int:

public ClassWriter(final int flags) {
[..]
}

And also the documentation says it's there:

http://asm.ow2.org/asm32/javadoc/user/org/objectweb/asm/ClassWriter.html

So, I can't really say how to fix this. Maybe the init(I)V in the
stacktrace helps? (not being a Javist, I could only infer that I means
integer, but don't know what V means)

The only difference I can see is in the class init methods. Compare the one
above with:

public class DebuggingClassWriter extends ClassWriter {
public DebuggingClassWriter(int flags) {
super(flags);
}
[..]
}

See, the only difference is the final keyword in ClassWriter. I don't know if
this could be related to the bug.

Bug#585581: doesn't work with current libasm3-java

2010-06-11 Thread David Paleino
Package: libcglib-java
Version: 2.2+dfsg-2
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

Hello,
I'm trying to package oauth-signpost (see #573556), but it FTBFS (well, the
tests fail). This is because it uses Mockito, which in turn uses cglib, which
uses libasm-java. Here's my backtrace:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.objectweb.asm.ClassWriter.init(I)V
  at net.sf.cglib.core.DebuggingClassWriter.init(DebuggingClassWriter.java:47)
  at
net.sf.cglib.core.DefaultGeneratorStrategy.getClassWriter(DefaultGeneratorStrategy.java:30)

  at
org.mockito.internal.creation.jmock.ClassImposterizer.createProxyClass(ClassImposterizer.java:68)
  [..]

The problem is that DebuggingClassWriter.java tries to pass an integer to asm's
ClassWriter, which expects a boolean instead.

Kindly,
David

Bug#573575: newer upstream version available 2.6.1

2010-03-12 Thread David Paleino
Package: libmaven-javadoc-plugin-java
Version: 2.5-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
I'm packaging (well, trying to, at least) oauth-signpost, and, amongst other
failures, it need maven-javadoc-plugin 2.6.1. This version is also signaled by
DEHS: http://dehs.alioth.debian.org/report.php?package=maven-javadoc-plugin

I'm going to block the ITP with this bug.

Thank you,
David

Bug#573581: newer upstream version available (4.8.1)

2010-03-12 Thread David Paleino
Package: junit
Version: 3.8.2-4
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
the new josm-tested version I'm packaging depends on oauth-signpost, which in
turn depends on junit 4.5's maven plugin. I suspect that is a = requirement,
and the upstream website claims 4.8.1 is out. It would be nice to have an
upgrade for it.

I'm going to block the ITP for oauth-signpost by this bug.

Kindly,
David

Bug#560784: wagon-webdav missing

2009-12-12 Thread David Paleino
Package: libwagon-java
Version: 1.0-beta-6-2
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
in /usr/share/doc/libwagon-java/README.Debian I read that wagon-webdav was not
packaged because, among other things, it depends on some non-free bits
(JackRabbit JCR).

Is JCR distributable in non-free? You could make a separate libwagon-webdav-
java package in contrib :-)

I'd need it for geowebcache, a package I'm preparing (but not ITPed yet).

Thank you,
David

Hello,
today I tried starting an application using libaccess-bridge-java-jni (namely:
josm), and it threw out:

The problem is
that /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/lib/ext/libjava-access-bridge-jni.so isn't
anywhere. libaccess-bridge-java-jni only
contains /u/l/jni/libjava-access-bridge-jni.so.0.0.0 (and related symlinks
in /usr/lib/jni/.
A simple symlink pointing to the requested file in the /usr/lib/jvm/ hierarchy
fixes this problem. However, I don't know whether this symlink should be
handled by this package, or by some other java trickery :)

Thank you,
David
