Bug#793500: libhtmlparser-java: /usr/share/doc/libhtmlparser-java-doc/api/ is not always included in the built package

2015-07-24 Thread Holger Levsen
Source: libhtmlparser-java

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

While working on the reproducible builds effort [1], we have noticed that
libhtmlparser-java does not always include all of
/usr/share/doc/libhtmlparser-java-doc/api/ is in the built package.

Check
https://reproducible.debian.net/dbd/unstable/amd64/libhtmlparser-java_1.6.20060610.dfsg0-5.debbindiff.html
(which is also attached to this bug report) to see the difference in the build
result, a lot of files are missing in the first build.

I'm guessing this is because the first build was done with LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
and LC_ALL unset, while the second build was done with LANG=fr_CH.UTF-8 and
LC_ALL=fr_CH.UTF-8.

The difference between the two build logs, which is available at
https://reproducible.debian.net/logdiffs/unstable/amd64/libhtmlparser-java_1.6.20060610.dfsg0-5.diff.gz
seems to confirm this:

Bug#792838: sitemesh: fails to build properly _and_ silently, when LC_ALL is not set

Dear Maintainer,

sitemesh builds differently in our setup, that is the installed size of
libsitemesh-java-doc is 213 when build with LC_ALL not set and when it's set
to fr_CH.UTF-8 the installed size is 4999.

IOW: it produces different binary packages dependening whether+how LC_ALL is
set.

https://reproducible.debian.net/dbd/unstable/amd64/sitemesh_2.4.1+dfsg-4.debbindiff.html
shows how the binaries differ.

https://reproducible.debian.net/reproducible.html has a table explaining the
variations between two builds in our setup. (At the bottom of that page.)

https://reproducible.debian.net/logdiffs/unstable/amd64/sitemesh_2.4.1+dfsg-4.diff.gz
shows a diff between the two build logs, showing this diff:

Bug#788353: locales-all provides: locales, but not all files locales provide

2015-06-11 Thread Holger Levsen
Hi Tony,

On Donnerstag, 11. Juni 2015, tony mancill wrote:
Nice job tracking down the root cause of this FTBFS error.

thanks! :)

 I'd kind of
prefer for locales-all to get it's act together instead of declaring a
Build-Conflicts against locales-all, but I don't want jblas to get
removed from testing in the meantime. Therefore, I'll prepare an upload
and (try to remember to) revert the Build-Conflicts down the road.

sounds reasonable to me!

as a workaround one can rebuild xmlgraphics-commons and fop from wheezy. (A

xmlgraphics-commons_1.4.dfsg-3.dsc and fop_1.0.dfsg2-3.dsc built fine for me
