Bug#403675: eclipse: annoying dialog box builtin browser not supported
Package: eclipse Version: 3.2.1-2 Severity: minor Every time I start eclipse, it first pops up a dialog box saying this eclipse does not support the builtin browser .. and then will not continue startup until I confirm it. I don't know why I should care about a builtin browser, but normal operation doesn't seem to be affected, and it's kind of annoying to be forced to repeatedly confirm this lack over, every time I use it. Bug#401387: eclipse fails to start

Running eclipse in a shell window gives a dialog asking where to put the workspace dir; I answer /usr/local/eclipse, then it gives me a progress bar showing it's loading all sorts of things ... and then eventually when it seems have finished, it displays a an error window, showing a rather cryptic message (unlike some of the other reported problems, there's no apparent log file to look at): JVM terminated. Bug#339289: eclipse-sdk: Eclipse hangs on startup
Package: eclipse-sdk Version: 3.1.1-5 Severity: important I installed eclipse-sdk, and selected Eclipse from the Gnome menu. It popped up a little box to announce it was starting, and then displayed another window with a little progress bar. For a while it ate all CPU, and then after about 30 seconds, it stopped using CPU -- but did not appear to progress any further. I gave up and killed it after a few minutes.
