Just click apply to this team on
https://launchpad.net/~pkg-multimedia-maintainers

It is useful in a way. It gives us one stop overview of all our
packages in Ubuntu Debian:

https://launchpad.net/~pkg-multimedia-maintainers/+related-software

This way it's easier (at least for me) to track all bugs which affect
our packages and whether or not there are some ubuntu delta on them.

Hey Andres,

thanks for the clarification and sorry for my confusion, you're absolutely
right. The source of the problem might be (just guessing) the
debian-multimedia repo.

Cheers,

Pajari

To be precise, the release is CrunchBang Linux 10 Alpha 1 (modified
 Debian

Then you need to report the bug to the proper location. There has
never been a libva-0.31.0.6 in Debian.

Adi YAAU Yet Another Ardour Update! 2.8.10

2010-06-16 Thread info
Adrian,

In case you didn't know they have released Ardour 2.8.10 to fix keyboard
shortcuts with LADSPA Plugins. Just passing it along.

Thanks very much for being so on top of the latest Ardour releases!

BTW I have released AV Linux 4.0 and put a nice blurb about the
pkg-multimedia team in the release notes, have a look if you like.

Bug#586016: libva1: Not working with some AVI's in Kaffeine either

2010-06-16 Thread Chris Alban Hansen
Package: libva1
Version: 1.0.1-3
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze

I can confirm this. I have a clean Squeeze installation, and after upgrading
libva1 yesterday, several AVI-vids are just black. However, audio is working, I
just don't have any picture.

I use Kaffeine to play videos.

Since upgrading to libva1_1.0.1-3_amd64 from
libva1_0.31.0-0.0+sds12_amd64, I am no longer able to play flv or mp4
files in VLC. I have downgraded back to libva1_0.31.0-0.0+sds12_amd64
using dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archive/libva1_0.31.0-0.0+sds12_amd64.deb,
and it appears to work fine with the older version.

I am no longer able to play flv's at all in VLC. With mp4 files, it
can only play the sound, but I get the following error, and no video
output:

No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video
format avc1. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

This is a problem with whereever you're getting libva-0.31.0 from. There has
never been a libva-0.31.0 in Debian.

Just so you know, whoever is packaging libva-0.31.0 is likely getting it from
http://www.splitted-desktop.com/~gbeauchesne/libva/. The official repo for
libva
is actually http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libva/. gbeauchesne is also an
upstream author for the official repo and has been working on incorporating his
changes from splitted-desktop to the official libva. In fact they've just
released a new version with his changes 4 days ago which I'm soon going to
package.

Ask whoever is packaging libva for whatever archive you're using to package
the latest libva from the official repo.

Bug#586171: respect $TERM and/or provide --no-color

2010-06-16 Thread jidanni
Package: ffmpeg
Version: 5:0.6~svn20100603-0.0
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/bin/ffmpeg

The program assumes a certain kind of terminal or something, and puts
escape sequences into the output to make different colors, and does not
consult $TERM or offer a --no-color option to turn it off.

I however have discovered a workaround:
$ ffmpeg x.flv y.mp3 21|cat

Package: ffmpeg

We see
   -timestamp time
   Set the timestamp.

but without adding an example, on cannot guess just what timestamp
format we should use.

true.

this however needs fixing upstream. Stefano (CC'ed), since you have the
most experience with FFmpeg Documentation, can you propose a wording for
svn trunk? I can then schedule this and potentially other documentation
fixes for 0.6.1.
