Xine and mplayer handle this but halting playback and rebuffering, then resuming playback. vlc, however, first loses sound, continues to play video for a little while, then playback permanently stops in mid-stream. vlc really needs to be able to rebuffer bandwidth-challenged streams. (vlc seems to be faster/more efficient then xine and mplayer at the moment, and of the three, is the only player that will cleanly play video on one of my 500 MHz Thinkpads. Adjusting the colors and values of a changing picture is far more difficult than adjusting a still picture. If the hardware interface is an obstacle, then as a kludge I suggest an algorithm something like: Is an image adjustment control in use? yes is the image paused? Copy paused image to special buffer, display that through standard X methods, temporarily, in place of the low level hardware buffer driver. If user changes any setting, display that dynamically on top of special buffer. when image is no longer paused, switch back to standard low level driver. Failing that, 'vlc' might perhaps be made to display an endlessly looped 1-frame video of some appropriate test pattern when adjusting, or perhaps superimpose the test pattern above part of the video. If it matters, my video card is: % lspci | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV15DDR [GeForce2 Ti] (rev a4) Using the standard X 'nv' driver. tags 448566 + wontfix upstream thanks Hello, If you really want to use the keyboard, you can use tab, space and arrows to control the advanced settings dialog. I really don't see the point in defining hot keys for this. I fact, I don't think hotkeys make much sense for slider widgets at all. There are a lot of packages whose configure script is dumbed down to assume mips when uname returns mips64. Bug#634762: snd: debian/control uses hardcoded list of non-Linux architectures
Package: snd Severity: wishlist User: debian-de...@lists.debian.org Usertags: linux-any The debian/control file in snd uses a negated list of architectures to specify a package relationship (most likely Build-Depends) on a Linux-specific package. I.e. something like: Build-Depends: libfoo-dev [!kfreebsd-i386 !kfreebsd-amd64 !hurd-i386] This is problematic because it will fail for any future kfreebsd-* or hurd-* architecture (like the upcoming kfreebsd-mipsel port).
