Bug#671934: ABI changes without SONAME change

2012-05-08 Thread Goswin von Brederlow
Package: libavformat53
Version: 6:0.8.2-1
Severity: normal

After updating libavformat53 my mplayer suddenyl fails:

mplayer: relocation error: mplayer: symbol ff_codec_wav_tags, version
LIBAVFORMAT_53 not defined in file libavformat.so.53 with link time reference

Looks like libavformat has removed a symbol, which changes the ABI,
without chaning the SONAME.

Bug#672123: libmpg123-0: glibc heap corruption when cueing backwards in MP3 in mplayer

2012-05-08 Thread Paul Walmsley

Package: libmpg123-0
Version: 1.14.0-1
Severity: normal

Hi

glibc detected heap corruption while skipping backwards in mplayer about 63% of
the way into this MP3:

http://soundcloud.com/astrangelyisolatedplace/isolatedmix-13-solar-
fields/download

The stack trace suggests the bug may be in libmpg123, although it is of course
difficult to know what actually corrupted the memory:

The build failure is exposed by building with gcc-4.7/g++-4.7,
which is now the default gcc/g++ on x86 architectures.

Some hints on fixing these issues can be found at

Bug#671934: ABI changes without SONAME change

 After updating libavformat53 my mplayer suddenyl fails:

 LIBAVFORMAT_53 not defined in file libavformat.so.53 with link time reference

 Looks like libavformat has removed a symbol, which changes the ABI,
 without chaning the SONAME.

I am, just as upstream is, aware of this issue. However, there is
little that we can do about this. Mplayer is really not supposed to
use that symbol. Could you please state your version of mplayer so
that we can add a proper replaces on libavformat53 in unstable? This
would at least ensure a 'smooth' upgrade path.

clxclient override disparity

2012-05-08 Thread Debian FTP Masters
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

libclxclient-dev_3.6.1-5_amd64.deb: package says section is libdevel, override
says devel.
libclxclient-dev_3.6.1-5_amd64.deb: package says priority is optional, override
says extra.
libclxclient3_3.6.1-5_amd64.deb: package says priority is optional, override
says extra.

Please note that a list of new sections were recently added to the
archive: cli-mono, database, debug, fonts, gnu-r, gnustep, haskell,
httpd, java, kernel, lisp, localization, ocaml, php, ruby, vcs, video,
xfce, zope. At this time a script was used to reclassify packages into
these sections. If this is the case, please only reply to this email if
the new section is inappropriate, otherwise please update your package
at the next upload.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please file a bug against ftp.debian.org and
explain why. Please INCLUDE the list of packages as seen above, or we
won't be able to deal with your request due to missing information.

Please make sure that the subject of the bug you file follows the
following format:

Subject: override: BINARY1:section/priority, [...], BINARYX:section/priority

Include the justification for the change in the body of the mail please.

Bug#672184: ecasound-el: auto-mode-alist .ewf

2012-05-08 Thread Kevin Ryde
Package: ecasound-el
Version: 2.8.1-6
Severity: wishlist
File: /etc/emacs/site-start.d/50ecasound-el.el

50ecasound-el.el could helpfully set up ecasound-ewf-mode on .ewf files,

  (add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '(\\.ewf\\' . ecasound-ewf-mode))

There's a similar line in ecasound.el itself but having it in
50ecasound-el.el will give the mode if visiting a .ewf before running up
ecasound.

ecasound.el has regexp \\.ewf$ but such entries usually should be
\\.ewf\\' to match end of string, not newline. It might be desirable
to patch that.

RFS: smplayer-themes

2012-05-08 Thread Maia Kozheva
I have prepared a new version of smplayer-themes, 20120131-1, ready for
upload in git.

Other than cosmetic work, the main highlight of this release is that the
upstream tarball now contains no non-free themes, so no DFSG repacking
is needed. I have also set DM-Upload-Allowed - like my previous smplayer
uploads, so this will be my last smplayer-themes upload requiring
sponsorship.

smplayer-themes (20120131-1) unstable; urgency=low

  [ Reinhard Tartler ]
  * Use multiline fields.
  * Add myself as primary uploader.

  [ Maia Kozheva ]
  * New upstream release.
  * Switch to 3.0 (quilt) format.
  * debian/control:
- Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.3.
- Add comma after Reinhard Tartler.
- Add Vcs- fields.
- Enable DM-Upload-Allowed.
- Add Enhances: smplayer.
  * debian/rules:
- Remove get-orig-source, not needed anymore (upstream tarball is
  DFSG-clean).
  * debian/copyright:
- Remove tarball repack notice.
  * debian/watch:
- Update for new versioning scheme.

Bug#672204: csladspa causes several audio programs to segfault

2012-05-08 Thread John O'Hagan
Package: csladspa
Version: 1:5.17.6~dfsg-2
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

Dear Maintainer,

After a recent upgrade which included csladspa, several music/audio programs,
which were not themselves updated, failed to start with a segmentation fault.
So far this applies to Audacity, Ardour, Rosegarden and Hydrogen.
Uninstalling csladspa returned these programs to normal function.
