Hi,

Your package seems to include some files that lack sources
in prefered forms of modification:

release/scripts/addons/netrender/js/jquery-ui.js

(you may use the packaged jquery-ui package. BTW you could may use
packaged jquery instead of your one).

According to Debian Free Software Guidelines [1] (DFSG) #2:
The program must include source code, and must allow distribution
in source code as well as compiled form..

This could also constitute a license violation for some copyleft
licenses such as the GNU GPL.

In order to solve this problem, you could:
1. repack the origin tarball adding the missing source to it.
2 add the source files to debian/missing-sources directory

Both way satisfies the requirement that we ship the source. Second option
might be preferable due to the following reasons [2]:
 - Upstream can do it too and you could even supply a patch to them,
thus full filling our social contract [3], see particularly §2.
 - If source and non-source are in different locations, ftpmasters may
miss the source and (needlessly) reject the package.
 - The source isn't duplicated in every .diff.gz/.debian.tar.* (though
this only really matters for larger sources).

You could also ask debian...@lists.debian.org or #debian-qa for more
guidance.

Dear Maintainer,

I'm currently using the capability of Blender for exporting models as
Wavefront .obj files. After the last update, the program
crashes after trying to modify the parameters of the exporting file. The
procedure to repeat the issue is:
1) Open Blender
2) File-Export-Wavefront (.obj)
3) Try to modify any of the parameters of the exporting file (example:
Selection Only)

Thank you for your time.

Severity: important

Justification: Fails to build from source but built in the past.

blender FTBFS on alpha because it is a 64bit arch but is not listed in
the patch 0011-fix_FTBFS_on_unofficial_64bit_archs.patch thus the build
fails with:

cd /«PKGBUILDDIR»/obj-alpha-linux-gnu/source/blender/makesdna/intern
../../../../bin/makesdna
/«PKGBUILDDIR»/obj-alpha-linux-gnu/source/blender/makesdna/intern/dna.c

makesdna: /«PKGBUILDDIR»/intern/atomic/atomic_ops.h:265: atomic_add_z:
Assertion `sizeof(size_t) == 1  2' failed.

Adding || defined(__alpha__) to the test of arches in the patch
0011-fix_FTBFS_on_unofficial_64bit_archs.patch results in a successful
build on alpha.

Cheers
Michael.

Dear Maintainer,

Blender has suddenly started segfaulting on some UI actions; most
reproducibly, either of the two actions below:

1. Changing any setting of the Export/Stl dialog (such as scale or the
   apply modifiers option).

2. Expanding any node in the list of topics in the Input tab of
   File/User preferences...

Blender's standard crash log included below. After a quick GDB session,
I'm reasonably confident this is exactly same as upstream bug T40224
(https://developer.blender.org/T40224), which has a patch that seems to
have been included in the recently released Blender 2.71, so presumably
packaging that would also solve the issue.

Help needed packing new Version of QasTools

2014-07-26 Thread Sebastian Holtermann
Hello,

I'd like to upload a new version of QasTools but it has
been a while since I built the last package and I'm
pretty much out of the package building workflow
and could need some help.

The current development version of QasTools (0.18.0beta)
is in git/master at
git://git.code.sf.net/p/qastools/git

Since I'm also the upstream/author of QasTools
I'd like to fix it up for Debian/Jessie,
then call it 0.18.0 (without beta)
and then upload it to Debian/Testing.

The Debian package is in git at
git.debian.org/git/pkg-multimedia/qastools.git
but I don't want to mess around there without former advice.

Regards,

Bug#755540: libav: FTBFS on ppc64el architecture

2014-07-26 Thread Reinhard Tartler
Control: tag -1 -patch +moreinfo

Hi Breno,

On Tue, Jul 22, 2014 at 7:56 AM, Reinhard Tartler siret...@gmail.com wrote:
On Mon, Jul 21, 2014 at 9:46 PM, Breno Leitao bren...@br.ibm.com wrote:

I am attaching a patch to disable altivec on ppc64el at the moment.
Ubuntu is also using the same patch.

It seems Ubuntu doesn't disable altivec at all:
 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libav/6:10.2-2/+build/6199083

In fact, it seems in ubuntu the package builds with altivec just fine:
hmm, doesn't Ubuntu has the workaround you provided here?

 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libav/+bug/1263802

A better solution was found upstream:

 http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-multimedia/libav.git/commit/?h=upstreamid=0ec75a04e5fc714bc3cd6e2a6b783e6df834ad01

This was part of libav 10.2, which was uploaded to Debian first, and
then copied over to Ubuntu. This is why I'm so confused that you are
experiencing this problem in Debian, but claim the problem was fixed
 in Ubuntu.

Can you please recheck that you are in fact trying to use Libav 10.2
and not 10.1, and clarify what's going on?

Note that upstream was not 100% sure if that is the right fix, as we
lack the hardware to test this properly. Feedback to
libav-de...@libav.org on the patch is very welcome.

Any news on this?

TBH, I don't believe that there is anything to do for this in the
Debian package, but before closing this bugreport, I'd like to hear a
word from you first.

Thanks!

error messages and the user-interface could always be better. Would
you please mind discussing this with upstream? Please follow the
instructions at https://libav.org/bugreports.html and report back with
the bugzilla number.

I do not want to flood you with too many bug reports, but avconv (or
avlib?) is not fit for practical use. [...] I will switch away completely from
 ffmpeg/avlib.

Can I take that you are not interested in testing new versions of libav/avconv?

Best,

Control: tag -1 upstream moreinfo

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your time to report this bug against the Debian libav
package. This software bug needs to be addressed by the upstream
developers. I strongly suspect that your mp4 files are in some way
corrupt (either damaged or produced by a funny encoder), so we'd need
some example files that allow developers to reproduce this problem on
their machines.

Would you please mind discussing this with upstream?
Please follow the instructions at https://libav.org/bugreports.html

Hi,

A long time ago, you expressed interest in packaging ogmrip. Unfortunately,
it seems that it did not happen. In Debian, we try not to keep ITP bugs open
for a too long time, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to
refrain from packaging the software.

This is an automatic email to change the status of ogmrip back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 18 months.

If you are still interested in packaging ogmrip, please send a mail to

Bug#756174: jackd2 building without any of the required build flags

2014-07-26 Thread Steve Langasek
Package: jackd2
Version: 1.9.10+20140610git97e0e80b~dfsg-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu utopic ubuntu-patch

The jackd2 package in Debian unstable does not properly pass dpkg-buildflags
values to waf. As a result, the package is built without optimizations
(-O2), has no debugging symbols available at build time (-g), and doesn't
use any of the hardening flags that are exported by dpkg-buildflags by
default on Debian.

The first two of these are violation of a policy should (10.1), the last
is bad for the security of the package.

The attached patch is a minimally-invasive fix for this, which uses
DEB_MAKE_EXTRA_ARGS to pass the variables to waf. However, waf is not make,
so this isn't strictly correct. There is a waf class in cdbs (available
since cdbs 0.4.90); I don't know why you're not using it, perhaps you want
to switch to using that instead.

I would offer a patch to convert the package to dh(1), but considering the
contents of the Uploaders field I suspect it would not be accepted.
