In my testing x264 got fixed by a simple rebuild.

I double-checked with dak on coccia.d.o, and yes, that should be enough.

Mmmno, wait, don't use Conflicts. Instead I suggest to put

Breaks: libgpac3 (= 0.5.2-426-gc5ad4e4~dfsg4-1)
Replaces: libgpac3

into libgpac4's stanza. Why and what would be the consequences?

 1. the Breaks field says that libgpac4 is uninstallable with a
libgpac3's specific version. That allows users to keep old versions of
libgpac3 installed along with libgpac4 and makes the transition
smoother.
 2. the Replaces field would allow libgpac4 to overwrite files
installed by the libgpac3's sole broken version.

I guess you've already got in touch with the release team. If you

possible [1].

IMO 7.6.2 applies here where the Conflicts: is needed, too.

Which package do you want to force-remove?
The broken libgpac3 version which contains the library with major
version 4. This will not affect Jessie - Stretch upgrade, since
Jessie has a proper libgpac3.

Bug#791748: vlc: VLC no longer works without pulseaudio

VLC suddenly is no longer able to play audio on systems that don't
have pulseaudio installed. When I run it on an mp3 file, it prints
 on stdout,

 PulseAudio server connection failure

and then just sits there doing nothing. Clicking the play button
does nothing. It also won't exit: clicking the windowmanager dismiss
button sometimes makes the window go away, sometimes not, but either
way it doesn't return control to the terminal where I started it.
A few ctrl-Cs will sometimes kill it, but often I have to use kill -9
 from another terminal.

If vlc requires pulseaudio, it should have that in the dependencies.
But I've been using vlc for years and it never needed pulse before.

Please attach the output of vlc -vvv.

Does audio work if you manually select alsa as audio output in the preferences?

Dear Toby Smithe tsmi...@ubuntu.com,

As you might know we the Qt/KDE team are preparing to remove Qt4's WebKit
as announced in [announce].

[announce]
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2015/05/msg1.html

Basically we are about to get the latest Qt4 point release and upstream is
migrating from WebKit to Bing in the Qt5 series, so we won't have much upstream
support for maintaining Qt4's WebKit.

In order to make this move, all packages directly or indirectly depending on
the Qt4's WebKit library have to either get ported to Qt5 or eventually get
removed from the Debian repositories.

Therefore, please take the time and:
- contact your upstream (if existing) and ask about the state of a Qt5
port of your application
- if there are no activities regarding porting, investigate whether there are
suitable alternatives for your users
- if there is a Qt5 port that is not yet packaged, consider packaging it
- if both the Qt4 and the Qt5 versions already coexist in the Debian
archives, consider removing the Qt4 version

= Porting =

Some of us where involved in various Qt4 to Qt5 migrations [migration] and we
know for sure that porting stuff from Qt4 to Qt5 is much much easier and less
painful than it was from Qt3 to Qt4.

We also understand that there is still a lot of software still using Qt4. In
order to ease the transition time we have provided Wheezy backports for Qt5.

Don't forget to take a look at the C++ API changes page [apichanges] whenever
you start porting your application.

[migration] http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/packagingqtstuff.html
[apichanges] http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/sourcebreaks.html

For any questions and issues, do not hesitate to contact the Debian Qt/KDE
team at debian-qt-...@lists.debian.org

Ana,
on behalf of the Qt4 maintainers
---End Message---
---BeginMessage---
Hi Ana, the current musescore package which is in Sid no longer depends
on any Qt4 library, so I'm closing this bug.

Thanks,

GCC 5 transition since no reverse dependency is using the exposed C++
 symbols directly.
 - Add libcoverartcc1 package.
 - Renamed libcoverart0 to libcoverart1 due to SONAME bump.
   * debian/rules:
 - Use out of tree build.
 - Remove dh_makeshlibs override.
   * debian/control:
 - Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.6.
 - Add graphviz to B-D-I.
   * debian/patches:
 - PATH_MAX.patch: Removed, applied upstream.
 - out-of-tree.patch: Fix install target for out of tree builds.

Bug#791589: (no subject)

2015-07-08 Thread Tiago Bortoletto Vaz
MuseScore package doesn't depend on any soundfont, please check this
thread for more details:

https://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-multimedia-maintainers/2015-July/045611.html

It seems there's no option other than fixing #789481 and waiting for
ftp-master approval of timgm6mb-soundfont, unfortunatelly.

Bests,

Bug#752124: (no subject)

2015-07-08 Thread Tiago Bortoletto Vaz
Hi, according to the most recent log from
http://clang.debian.net/logs/2015-03-25/, the last build attempted was
made with musescore_1.3. Could you perform the check with the new
musescore (2.0.x) package which is in Sid?

Also, should I propose the current patch for Jessie (which ships
musescore_1.3)? I'm not certain if this issue fits for a stable update
request.

Thanks,

Ardour3 version 4.1

Seriously?

Why is the package name not Ardour4? Can this be changed?

As bonus point, can the ancient ardour package (currently 2.8.11)
become a meta-package depending on the latest version?

It may not be a big deal (new versions of ardour an load old sessions),
but for a bit-exact re-export of older sessions, some users may want to
keep old Ardour2 and Ardour3 versions around. Simply replacing Ardour3
package with Ardour4 strikes me as a bad idea.

ciao,
robin

   * New upstream snapshot.
   * Split C wrapper functions from the C++ implementation. This helps with the
GCC 5 transition since it reduces the number of packages requiring a
rebuild to 3 (cantata, flactag, libkcddb).
 - Add libmusicbrainz5cc2 package.
 - Renamed libmusicbrainz5-1 to libmusicbrainz5-2 due to SONAME bump.
   * debian/rules: Build with -Wl,--as-needed.

libmusicbrainz5_5.1.0+git20150707-1_amd64.changes is NEW

2015-07-08 Thread Debian FTP Masters
binary:libmusicbrainz5-2 is NEW.
binary:libmusicbrainz5cc2 is NEW.

Your package has been put into the NEW queue, which requires manual action
from the ftpteam to process. The upload was otherwise valid (it had a good
OpenPGP signature and file hashes are valid), so please be patient.

Packages are routinely processed through to the archive, and do feel
free to browse the NEW queue[1].

If there is an issue with the upload, you will recieve an email from a
member of the ftpteam.

If you have any questions, you may reply to this email.
