It's a joke ?

This package is needed by mkvtoolnix in unstable not experimental.

Please upload new packages to unstable.

Bug#877497: libmatroska6v5: New upstream release 1.4.8

2017-10-02 Thread Christian Marillat
Package: libmatroska6v5
Version: 1.4.7-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

1.4.8 is required by mkvtoolnix 16.0.0

,
| Build system changes
|
| libEBML v1.3.5 and libMatroska v1.4.8 are now required. In fact v15.0.0
already requires libEBML v1.3.5 and libMatroska v1.4.7 but did not include
proper version checks for them (nor was there a NEWS.md entry for the new
libMatroska requirement). New is the requirement for libMatroska v1.4.8 due to
it fixing writing block groups for tracks with the track number 128 (see #2103).

Bug#835118: libmatroska-dev: Should update the shlibs file to at least 1.4.4

2016-08-22 Thread Christian Marillat
Package: libmatroska-dev
Version: 1.4.5-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

Severity serious as the msissing version in the dependency breaks
mkvtoolnix and mkvtoolnix-gui packages.

As requested by the upstream author :

,
| MKVToolNix v9.3.1 and newer use features newly introduced in libMatroska
v1.4.4. This means that you cannot compile MKVToolNix v1.4.5 and try to run it
against v1.4.4 — that’ll fail with symbol lookup errors from ld.

In the meantime, and considering your intention of moving away from

As I don't want to be bothered, I don't intent to transfert the domain

Thomas PIERSON web.pier...@gmail.com writes:

 Hi,

I could not reproduce this bug. I tested on several configurations and
it works fine. However, I suspect that this bug is caused by libprojectm2.

Package from debian-multimedia.org was working fine.
This multimedia package seem to use the embedded version of
'libprojectm2' contrary to the archive package that use the real
'libprojectm2' Debian package instead. So it is possible that there are
 differences between them.

Mais be you need to read the clementine source code ?

In CMakeLists.txt :

,
| option(USE_SYSTEM_PROJECTM Don't set this option unless your system projectM
library has been compiled with the Clementine patches in 3rdparty OFF)
`

Not a bug surprise if clementine doesn't work if build with the 'real'
and apparently broken 'libprojectm2' Debian package.

I've changed my mind as I use the package almost everyday and it works
 very, very fine.
Moreover, upstream seems back in action now.

What about encoding files in aac or mp3 ?

The program allows users to encode Audio-CD tracks into many other
formats, so: where is the problem?

People can't encode in mp3. Do you think ins't a problem ?

Anyone who wants to use this application with non-free codecs usually
 knows how to do that.

How ?

So, I'm on it, the package will be ready soon.

Another useless package in debian.

Urgh. It's the maintainers prerogative to set a severity. If you
disagree you need to appeal to the Release Team for RC severities or the
tech-ctte. Playing severity and assignment ping-pong is nothing I'd
 expect from a DD.

I don't play with the BTS. Tartler simply changed the bug severity
without any explanation.

For now and without more info these codecs are forbidden in Debian and
the bug severity remain serious and assigned to ffmpeg.

As now 0.9.0 has been released it is possible to have this package in
