Bug#771675: [Pkg-shadow-devel] Bug#771675: systemd: machinectl: Failed to get container bus: Input/output error

2014-12-13 Thread Christian PERRIER
Quoting Michael Biebl (bi...@debian.org):

Adding pts/0 to /etc/securetty inside the container made it possible
 to login via machinectl login.

I don't know the security implications of that change, so I've CCed the
login maintainers. Maybe the can chime in here if this is something we
could ship in the default login /etc/securetty configuration.

Hello Michael and Mario (and others, eventually),

Well, the login maintainers are actually meand I wouldn't even
call myself a real maintainer for this key package I'm just one of
the last people who still barely look at theh package's bug and check
if there are RC bugs.

So, well, don't hope too much from me, here, I'm really lacking the
proper skills to have a good advice.

Still I would happily apply any patch in case more skilled people (who
I trust) provide it.

(forw) Bug#769728: [jessie daily 2014-11-15] installation-report: regression when deselecting the standard system utilities task

2014-11-25 Thread Christian PERRIER
Hello dear systemd packages maintainers,

I think this bug report is worth a look as this basically resumes to
problems on system without packages of priority 'standard'. The
problems seems to be systemd-related bu I lack the experience to debug
this further

Comments/Problems:
The installation itself works flawlessly, but when installing a
minimal system by deselecting standard system utilities in
tasksel, on booting the installed system the systemd error
message [FAILED] Failed to start Login Service gets shown
several times.

systemctl status -l systemd-logind.service results in:

When standard system utilities is selected in tasksel, the
problem does not occur. Deselecting standard system utilities
did not have any negatve effect on the boot process when d-i
still installed SysV-init as the default init system, so this is
a regression.

Following is a full boot log of an installation with standard
system utilities deselected in tasksel:
