Weltrotkreuztag am 8. Mai 50.000 Menschen begeistern sich für die freiwillige Arbeit beim Roten Kreuz Wien (Rotes Kreuz) - Anlässlich des Weltrotkreuztages am 8. Mai weist Rotkreuz-Präsident Fredy Mayer auf die Bedeutung der Freiwilligkeit hin. Freiwillige sind der Kit unserer Gesellschaft. Sie erbringen Dienstleistungen, die weder Markt noch öffentliche Hand in dieser Form zur Verfügung stellen, so Mayer, der seine Tätigkeit selbst ehrenamtlich ausübt. 44 Prozent der Österreicher engagieren sich freiwillig, rund 50.000 tun dies beim Roten Kreuz. Die Freiwilligen widmen ihre freie Zeit, ihre Wochenenden jenen, die Hilfe brauchen. Etwas 'tun, was Sinn macht' ist für viele, besonders in wirtschaftlich turbulenten Zeiten, Motivation für ihr Engagement beim Roten Kreuz, weiß der Rotkreuz-Präsident. Die Anzahl der Freiwilligen ist zwar in den letzten Jahren gestiegen, aber die investierte Zeit jedes einzelnen sinkt. Viele Freiwillige wollen sich nicht mehrere Jahre an eine Organisation oder einen Bereich binden. Das Rote Kreuz bietet viele spannende Projekte, die auch kurzfristiges Engagement ermöglichen. Edeltraut Töpfer, Landesvorsitzende der Frauen-Union der CDU Berlin, erklärt zum Muttertag am 9. Mai: Gleichstellung per Lohnsteuerkarte jetzt! Gerechtigkeit für Familien ist ein zentrales Anliegen der Frauen Union. Gerechte Entlohnung und geeignete Rahmenbedingungen für die Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf gehören selbstverständlich dazu. Der Muttertag/Familientag ist in besonderer Weise geeignet, in den Blick zu rücken, dass der ausgezahlte Nettolohn von Frauen immer noch zu häufig nicht den tatsächlich von ihnen erwirtschafteten Anteil am Familieneinkommen entspricht. Dies ist dann der Fall, wenn Ehemänner in der Lohnsteuerklasse III und die Ehefrauen in der Lohnsteuerklasse V veranlagt sind. Das muss nicht sein! Steuern fair teilen! Ehepaare können seit dem 1. Januar 2010 beim Ehegattensplitting das so genannte Faktorverfahren nutzen. Bei der Wahl der Steuerklassenkombination IV/IV mit Faktor errechnet das Finanzamt einen Faktor, der die steuermindernde Wirkung des Splittingverfahrens beim Lohnsteuerabzug berücksichtigt. Der Vorteil des Ehegattensplittings wird so bei jeder Gehaltsabrechnung und somit auch die Lohnsteuerbelastung fair und gleichberechtigt zwischen den Ehepartnern verteilt. Frauen haben nach wie vor häufig ein geringeres Einkommen als ihre Männer. Zumeist kümmern sie sich im stärkeren Umfang um die Erziehung der Kinder und sind daher teilzeitbeschäftigt. 94 Prozent der Steuerpflichtigen mit Lohnsteuerklasse V sind Frauen. Sie leisten damit monatlich vergleichsweise hohe Lohnsteuervorauszahlungen. Dabei vergessen viele Frauen, dass beispielsweise die Höhe von Lohnersatzleistungen wie des Eltern-, Mutterschafts- oder Arbeitslosengeldes sich am Nettolohn orientiert. Die Frauen Union der CDU hat schon vor Jahren die Abschaffung der Lohnsteuerklasse V gefordert. Mit der Einführung des Faktorverfahrens ist ein weiterer wichtiger Schritt für die tatsächliche Gleichstellung von Frauen und Männern erreicht.
