 Hi,

So... any success reports, on either x86 or x86-64?

 yes.

For example, I wrote this guide

 http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Instalar_Grass_6.4_e_QGis_1.0_em_Ubuntu_8.10_(com_ECW_e_MrSID)

in Portuguese. The steps are pretty self-explanatory but if something
is not clear drop me a line.

Thanks! I was able to translate with Google and perform the needed
installations. I built GDAL, then QGIS (without GRASS for now) and my
MrSID topos are loading just fine. Very straightforward.

I'm very pleased with QGIS thus far. I like how I can display all of
the Cascades topos in a single tiled view in the overview pane so it
is possible to navigate to anywhere in the mountains very easily.

Re: [Qgis-user] WFS/WMS layers behind HTTP/HTTPS basic auth

2009-04-17 Thread Peter Willis

Is there any way to use HTTP basic auth with QGIS WMS?

Currently there is no support for this but its something a few people
have requested now. I recommend adding an enhancement ticket to trac and
we will hopefully add support for this in the near future.

Thanks

Tim

Is there already a ticket for this in track?
Does the priority increase as more people ask
for a specific feature?

As a note; uDig handles WMS behind basic auth.
You may want to peruse their source code before
reinventing. Of course, they are programming in java
so it's difficult to tell how much of the basic auth
is being handled directly by java as opposed to
the actual program handling it directly.

This is already being worked on -- https://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/ticket/1603
