[sane-devel] Plustek OpticFilm 7200 : first investigations

[sane-devel] Canon MF4140
Thanks. The first log was probably sufficient, but the ensuing ones will probably make good supporting data should it be needed. I took a look and indeed it is similar to existing code. As a matter of fact, I'm still deciding whether it's more similar to the MF4270 or the MP730. One of the key diffs between the MF4270 is the checksumming; in yours, it just puts a checksum at the end like other Pixmas while mine is weird in that it puts the inverse at the end and the regular checksum before it. Anyway, I'll dig into it more tomorrow. If you don't mind, I'm also cc'ing the list and attaching an abridged version of the log for posterity and in case anyone else wants to weigh in on the protocol. -Dennis URB cmd/len: data -- ... I realize you are very busy trying to get these things sorted but I would like to get my mp470 working for home/school/ and work use. If there is a way of getting the printer and scanner working I would be very grateful to be told how. Thankyou for your time and for your great work please contact me anytime Ray Whatman. I would also be willing to use test drivers {you can use me as a lab rat} to get these drivers to work thanks.
[sane-devel] Canon MF4140 Laserfax (PC, Debian Lenny) works fine at the end
Hi guys, for the record: Canon i-sensys MF4140 multifunctional laserfax works at the end. Nice thing, ***VERY*** fast. Greetings, Daniel Stender
[sane-devel] Canon PIXMAR MP470 all-in-one printer/scanner drivers
the scanning portion of this device is supported by current sane cvs. you will need to upgrade sane to get support. I dont know if anyone builds packages for your OS. if not, you will have to compile a cvs checkout from source. allan On Sun, Aug 24, 2008 at 4:23 AM, Debray6379 debray6379 at optusnet.com.au wrote: Hi first off thanks for the great effort in trying to bring us linux users a great product! [sane-devel] question: sane(xsane) umax astra 2100u scanner
Greetings. I'm owner for now already a very old scanner umax astra 2100u. I've already tried to use that device on linux some year ago, and have tried it now too in some hope something may changed. But as i see the results, it didn't, look at the attachment. always the same result. So, my question is, if there is any hope to fix this issue? Or rather to get rid of that device? Because as it's mentioned to this 2100u model on SANE - Supported Scanners page, the STATUS should be GOOD, which by the legend means:Status: # good means the device is usable for day-to-day work. Some rather exotic features may be missing. my scanner: http://www.sane-project.org/cgi-bin/driver.pl?manu=model=2100ubus=anyv=p= http://www.sane-project.org/man/sane-umax1220u.5.html And if possible, i would be glad to fix this. [sane-devel] question: sane(xsane) umax astra 2100u scanner
this backend is marked as unmaintained. so purchasing a more recent machine might be your best bet. but first, i would try it on windows and make sure it is not a hardware problem. allan 2008/8/24 pulsar.star pulsar.star at centrum.sk: Greetings. From: Daniel Stender uzs...@uni-bonn.de Canon i-sensys MF4140 multifunctional laserfax works at the end. The Ubuntu forums that Daniel referenced earlier also report success with the MF4140. However, the USB snoop logs from a MF4150 that Bob Dronsky sent me show a different packet format. Is it possible that two different devices (MF4140 vs. MF4150) with two different protocols share the same USB VID/PID (04a9:26a3)? -Dennis
