[sane-devel] translations: update french translation

2010-06-06 Thread Yann E. MORIN
This patch updates the french translation. Of notable interest:
- all 897 messages are translated
- no fuzzy messsage remains

I have not reviewed all messages, just those that were not translated,
and those that were fuzzy. I did spot a few errors that I fixed. Also,
in French, the correct translation for 'scanner' is 'num?riseur', but
is not widely used, and we do use 'scanner'. I have changed two
occurences of 'num?riseur' back to 'scanner'.

[sane-devel] Canon CanoScan 9000F (similar to 8800F) supported by sane?

2010-06-06 Thread Al Bogner
Is the Canon CanoScan 9000F supported by sane?

The CanoScan 9000F
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoActfcategoryid=120modelid=20411
seems to be very similar to the 8800F, which is supported according
http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-CANON

The only difference I found:

9000F:
Max. Resolutions
Optical: 3 9600 x 9600 dpi (film) / 4800 x 4800 (all other media)
Interpolated: Interpolated: 19,200 x 19,200 dpi
Scanning Mode
Color: 48-bit internal/48 or 24-bit external
Grayscale: 48-bit internal/16-bit (film scanning only)/8-bit external

8800F:
Max. Resolutions
Optical: 4800 x 9600 dpi
Interpolated: 19,200 x 19,200 dpi
Scanning Mode
Color: 48-bit internal / 48-bit external (selectable in driver)
Grayscale: 48-bit internal / 8-bit external/16-bit internal (for film scanning
only)

If there is no knowledge of the 9000F re sane, which info could I give you, if
I can test this model a little bit?

[sane-devel] Fwd: SANE serious bug in backend manuals

OS: Mac OS X 10.6

In manual tables to configure scanner you have (example):
Vendor CANON ? ID: 0x04A9

in MAC correct ID is:
Vendor ID: 0x04a9 (Canon Inc.)

(you can see it in devices connected to USB bus in:
'About this mac more info')

When I use BIG letter A instead of a in vendor ID my mac can't see the
scanner.
Also, finding Vendor and prouct ID is easier that way, instead of searching on
web page.

Sorry. I do not have time to log in to 'bug page' right now...
Have a nice day.
