[sane-devel] Orientation support

2014-03-14 Thread Ariel Ramonito Edera
Hi Stef,

Thank you for the reply.
Another question, does SANE support original size? I mean setting of page size.

 Hi,

I would like to ask if sane-backend 1.0.21 supports orientation
 setting for SANE?

If yes, what class/variable/enum would that be.

 Thank you.

 Hello,

there is nothing defined in SANE standard regarding orientation.
But a backend can define a custom option like it is done in the hs2p backend
(see backend/hs2p-saneopts.h).

 Stef

[sane-devel] Image Compression doesn't support in SANE protocal

2014-03-14 Thread Ariel Ramonito Edera
Hi All,

Do you have any update on this thread?
This is way back 2006, perhaps it is now supported.
It's about adding frame type for JPEG or other compressed format.

[sane-devel] Image Compression doesn't support in SANE protocal

2014-03-14 Thread m. allan noah
There has been little improvement of this situation. There are some
commented out frame types for jpeg and ir in the source, and some
backends will use them if they are uncommented. But, since they are
not part of the sane standard, most front programs will not handle
them.

[sane-devel] Orientation support

2014-03-14 Thread m. allan noah
Several backends support the page-width and page-height parameters to
set the paper size, independent of the image size params.

OK, I removed this from the patch.

However, this patch fixed it (don't know if it breaks something else though)

Is this a scanner internal timeout? Is the scanner waiting for scanning?

After checking button timeout I'll commit the patches.

 Hello,

I'm new to this, but I'm gonna try my luck. I own a Canaon MX375
 all-in-one. The PIXMA-backend has this annoying adf-empty-bug.

Is there any information I could provice to help to fix this?

The binary driver from canon.uk works with their gui-frontend only and
I'd like to get it working on a headless system.

 Thanks for any comments.

 Hello,

for me most common frontends are the ones that pop up in the
mailing list:
 - scanimage
 - xsane
 - scanadf
 - simplescan

I think that checking default frontend installed by various linux
distributions will also give an idea of the most commonly used frontends.
