Hello over there,
I own a Acer Flatbed scanner (620 ST) which I use rarely. So I can not
exactly tell you, when this error started to occur on my computer.
Anyway. Right now the kernel version is linux-2.6.17-gentoo-r8.
The system is based on gcc 4.1.1 and glibc-2.4
Sane is uptodate:
sane-backends-1.0.18
sane-frontends-1.0.14
# scanimage -L
device `snapscan:/dev/sg0' is a Acer FlatbedScanner17 flatbed scanner
# scanimage
scanimage: sane_start: Out of memory
access rights seem to be alright...
Well, I did some research in the web and found that sometimes poeple
forgot to enable swaping, so I checked that, just to be sure:
# free
total used free sharedbuffers cached
Mem:516112 182988 333124 0 45052 113784
-/+ buffers/cache: 24152 491960
Swap: 506008 0 506008
Hm, seems to be OK, doesn't it?
Does anybody have an idea, what the heck is going wrong, or how to get
rid of that problem?
Thank you and best regards,
Sandro
