[sane-devel] Epson Stylus CX5500 Scanner
I am running OpenSuse 10.3 can't get an Epson scanner to work. The scanner is an Epson CX5500 multi-function. I had lots of fun getting the printer to work but eventually found an Epson scx4450 driver it works nicely. Sane doesn't seem to recognise the product ID. Is there something I can do? Thanks in advance. sane-find-scanner # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer. # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter. found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [Language Error], product=0x083f [Language Error]) at libusb:005:002 # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by # SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage. # Not checking for parallel port scanners. # Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports # can't be detected by this program.

Stylus CX4300/CX4400/CX4450/CX5500/CX5600/DX4400/DX4450 The Epson Stylus CX5500 is supported as of iscan-2.9.0. We haven't tested on OpenSuse 10.3, IIRC, but I believe 10.2 was okay.
