[sane-devel] USB HP scanjet 4070 photo smart scanner not working on Fedora3

2006-01-13 Thread gangaraju
hi Henning,
Sorry for my last post.

Here is the SANE_DEBUG_HP3900=255 scanimage -L out put.

[root@localhost ~]# SANE_DEBUG_HP3900=255 scanimage -L

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).

Regards,
gangaraju.

What is the problem? Could you show us a debug log
(e.g. SANE_DEBUG_HP3900=255 scanimage -L)

 [root@localhost ~]# sane-find-scanner
[...]
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [hewlett packard], product=0x2405 [hp
 scanjet]) at libusb:001:003

Looks fine.

This scanner may work with the external hp3900 backend, at least its
chipset is supported by that backend:

There is no support in the sane-backends distribution. As there
doesn't seem to exist any experience with your scanner and the hp3900
backend yet, its status is untested:

So I guess I can list the support status of this scanner as minimal?
Any reports about the ScanJet 4370?

After sent post I supose the support status of hp 4070 is the same as
hp3970. Minimal. I've nothing about hp 4370 at this moment.

]#sane-find-scanner out put is.
No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make
sure that
you have loaded a SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.

found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [hewlett packard], product=0x2405 [hp

Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be
supported by
SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.

Not checking for parallel port scanners.

Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports
can't be detected by this program.

You may want to run this program as root to find all devices. Once you
found the scanner devices, be sure to adjust access permissions as
necessary.
