[Savannah-register-public] [task #5081] Submission of PyPIV
Update of task #5081 (project administration): Status: Need Info = Ping-ed ___ Follow-up Comment #2: Hi, I am waiting for an answer from you. If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues. Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time. To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies. Regards. ___ Reply to this item at: http://savannah.gnu.org/task/?func=detailitemitem_id=5081 ___ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/

Update of task #5081 (project administration): Status: Ping-ed = Wait reply ___ Follow-up Comment #3: URAPIV urapiv wrote per PRIVATE Mail, not using the Tracker-URI mentioned in ALL mails from the tracker. :'(: First of all, I'm absolutely sure that I already answered. I do not know what happened to my first answer, and I do not have any problem to repean the answer. If it will not go through this time, I'll give up with Savannah :-( 1. I'm the developer of URAPIV and I'll rewrite PyPIV from scratch. No problem with this side. 2. matplotlib is not necessary and I think I would be able to do provide the working version with gnuplot (through gplt of python) 3. the source code of PyPIV does not exist yet. the source code of URAPIV is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/matlabpiv Thanks for your care, -- End forwarded message -- So how do you plan to use Savannah, if you haven't got any source code at the moment? Do you need this project really, now, or could you re-register when you have got any source code to show us? Regards and sorry for the inconvience. ___ Reply to this item at: http://savannah.gnu.org/task/?func=detailitemitem_id=5081 ___ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/

Update of task #5081 (project administration): Status: Wait reply = Cancelled Open/Closed:Open = Closed ___ Follow-up Comment #4: URAPIV urapiv wrote: | You're right. It is not ready for Savannah. sorry for taking | your | time. I will re-register when it's ready or stay with | sourceforge. It | was my misunderstanding that these two sites are similar, it is | just Savannah are less commercialized. My apology. Sorry but, note that commercial does not mean proprietary. Free Software means that users have certain freedoms; it does not mean zero price. Commercial means associated with business; a commercial program may be free or non-free, depending on its license. So it is a mistake to treat free and commercial as contraries. When a business develops free software, that is free commercial software. ;-) Regards and look forward to your re-registration. ___ Reply to this item at: http://savannah.gnu.org/task/?func=detailitemitem_id=5081 ___ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/

Update of task #5081 (project administration): Status:None = Need Info Assigned to:None = kickino ___ Follow-up Comment #1: Hi, I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah. At first, the license of matplotlib (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/matplotlib/matplotlib/license/LICENSE?rev=1.35view=markup) is a little bit strange. But I guess it is GPL compatible but I'll need to contact our license-team about it when those guys will be back from holidays. :-) At second, what do you mean by We are translating? urapiv seems to be released under the old BSD license, which is incompatible with our GPL. So do you want to re-write it from scratch? Or copy some parts of it (you are totally not allowed to do that, because of the incompatibility)? At third, please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code. The description you gave when registering will not be read by the general public. If you are still concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by email. We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early. For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code. This is explained in http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html. Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these. Regards and Happy GNU year -- the Savannah Administration team. ___ Reply to this item at: http://savannah.gnu.org/task/?func=detailitemitem_id=5081 ___ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
