I would prefer, a short agenda, and that the introductions included if a person
works on a particular field
(This would be made to a wiki page afterward, which would make it easier for
new people like me).

Good idea !! I thought of making a list of my iOS (in reality mobile)
priorities, and see if people in general accept the ideas (or more correctly
the route).

do we want the first meeting to be within introductions and no
particular agenda?

if we plan on agenda items, a google document where everyone with a
link can edit works. it can't be lost or maliciously edited as gdocs
has good undo/history functionality.
also this way anyone can add potential discussion topics.

I work for a telco company. I can help with a coopnet call with screen/app
sharing presentation like. Coopnet can provide local numbers but i will
need all participants emails to send invites.

Yes, Linus and I will be in Edinburgh at the Open Source Summit Europe.
We'll be in Edinburgh from Sunday afternoon Oct 21st until the morning of
Wednesday Oct 24th. If people want to get together in person, I'm sure we
can arrange that... as long as no one expects us to go diving in Scotland in
October :-)

To be honest - I never was into the online-chat thing (be it IRC, discord or
whatever the youngsters are using today). But sure - I can drop by on July
5th.

I faintly remember someone was mentioning Edinburgh as a possibility of
meeting in pub/flesh? I've never been there, so that would be a welcome
occasion. :)

Re: translations

2018-06-27 Thread Dirk Hohndel

Thanks again to all the translators.

We now have UK English, German, Swiss German, Italian, Portuguese, Hebrew,
Romanian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Norwegian, Spanish, Dutch, and French all at 100%
completion.

You are amazing. Counting the two flavors of English and German separately,
that means we have 14 completed languages.

Czech, Finnish, Chinese, Swedish are all very close (98+%)

Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Greek, Polish, Estonian, and Danish are still
reasonably well translated (70-90%)

I think the other languages we should turn off because if less than 2/3 of the
text is translated, I don't think we should claim support for those languages.

I'm still planning to cut the release tomorrow or maybe Friday - if you are
still working on translations, please drop me a note so I can make sure to
include your work (and of course, if you miss the deadline, there will be a
4.8.1 fairly soon - we always have a bunch of small things to fix after a
release).

Thanks!
