Re: Window pop-up in Windows 7

The Pidgin icon in the task bar flashes and we have Pidgin setup to alert us with a sound so there are some flags that a new session has come in. In XP, the new chat window automatically appeared on top of the other windows so it was very visible. The flashing icon helps but we are use to new session appearing in our face so to speak. Is this change a function of how Windows 7 works and is there some way people have figured out how to get new chat sessions to appear on top when it comes in? I haven't found any setting in Pidgin or Windows that help with this. The Message Notification plugin (which is shipped with Pidgin) provides a number of notification options that should help. -D ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Trouble w/Pidgin
Hello:I do not seem to be setting up my contacts in Pidgin correctly, or it is not working correctly for me. Can someone give me a call or set-up a screen share so we can resolve the issue? The issue is that my connections are listed, I have used their oracle email address. In the more actions options I do NOT have the ability to send them a request for authorization but yet I cannot see many/most of them when they are on-line unless they request authorization from me first. Brett, I think this is the default behavior of Communicator (SIPE) with Pidgin. Are you using Communicator? Re: Trouble w/Pidgin
Brett, To the best of my knowledge, Pidgin support is entirely community driven. I'm just a mailing list subscriber speaking about how I use Pidgin + Communicator. Do the other employees use Microsoft's application or do they use Pidgin? The SIPE project wrote the plugin, so the functionality you are experiencing could differ slightly from the Microsoft app. -Tres On Wed, Sep 19, 2012 at 1:55 PM, Brett Hettrick brett.hettr...@oracle.comwrote: Hi Tres: ** ** If you are asking if I still use Microsoft Lync from my Taleo days, yes. Re: Trouble w/Pidgin
Brett Hettrick spake unto us the following wisdom: I do not seem to be setting up my contacts in Pidgin correctly, or it is not working correctly for me. Can someone give me a call or set-up a screen share so we can resolve the issue? No. This list is not Oracle support, it is support for a third party software package that Oracle just happens to use. You need to contact Oracle IT. Please let them know their support system failed *again* --- we get numerous support requests that we cannot handle from Oracle employees.
