Some authentication schemes could have difficulty with that. I suspect you are using a computer configured for use on the US East Coast (e.g. Microsoft's Seattle HQ), but set so that the time actually displayed appears to be Indian Standard Time. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Google wanted to cancel the mechanism with which the Google XMPP server and other XMPP servers can exchange messages. What wasn't going to be dropped was connecting to chat on Google Hangouts using the XMPP protocol, and this is still working fine for me with Pidgin here from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bezeq international in Israel. I can't find a way to quit Pidgin under Ubuntu/GNOME 3
Hi, I'm using Pidgin for years under various distribution and it always worked well. However since my upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04, using GNOME 3, I can't find a way to quit Pidgin. Simply put I want to start pidgin (not at login) and be able to quit it when I want like any other application. AFAICS, there is no quit option in Pidgin menu. When I click on quit in Pidgin top icon, all the windows are closed but Pidgin remains active which is very annoying and (as pointed by some users) potentially dangerous (since anybody in front of the computer will also have access to the contact list for instance). I have found several messages on the same problem but it's not very clear. My questions are then: 1) is there a built-in way to quit Pidgin that I have missed? 2) is there any plugin/gnome-shell extension that can provide a quit button as a temporary fix? 3) would it be possible to have a quit icon/menu entry that really closes Pidgin? Thanks in advance, Mathieu ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Use this link: https://pidgin.im/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support
Re: I can't find a way to quit Pidgin under Ubuntu/GNOME 3
AFAIK, there are 3 different ways to quit Pidgin: a) Go to the buddy list, and click “quit” in the buddies menu. b) Right-click on the systray icon and click “quit”. c) If you have disabled the tray icon in the preferences dialog, you can no longer minimize Pidgin to tray; Instead, closing the buddy list will now close Pidgin directly. Note that b) and c) are never available at the same time because the systray icon is either enabled or disabled. -Original Message- From: Mathieu Dubois duboismathieu_g...@yahoo.fr To: support@pidgin.im Subject: I can't find a way to quit Pidgin under Ubuntu/GNOME 3 Date: Thu, 11 Dec 2014 20:02:46 +0100 Hi, I'm using Pidgin for years under various distribution and it always worked well.
