RE: input method will be changed when I close a pidgin window
Thank you for your reply. I am sorry for the lost image, It looks like this: you see, the IME status is enabled. and this is my system IME config: It has ONE language and ONE input method. when I close a dialogue window of Pigdin , it is not switch the IME sub-modes, the IME is disabled totally. the icon become to gray. and I don't set any particular key combination at system level. so if it happen cause by GTK, what can I do? GTK is the key part of Pigdin... anyway, Pigdin is not my common IM tools, so if there are no better ways to resolve this issue, just let it be : ) at last , if my text has any unsuitable words or grammar or anyelse which confuse you ,Pls forgive me my poor English :P Date: Mon, 5 Jan 2015 11:44:22 + From: for...@david-woolley.me.uk To: steven01...@hotmail.com; support@pidgin.im Subject: Re: input method will be changed when I close a pidgin window On 05/01/15 06:53, steven01997 wrote: I am user from China. So I use chinese input method on my windows 8. When I open a Pidgin dialogue window, the IME status is looked like this: This image was not present in the email (I checked the message source). BUT, when I close or minisize this window, the IME status is changed to this : This image (which has been lost because of replying plain text) contains the Chinese character 英, in the system tray, which is short for 英语, which means English. It is invalid, for all the program running in the computer. I should press ctrl+blank space to enable IME. so , is it a BUG ? In my view, no application program should change the global state of the IME. However, in this case, it going to be GTK, rather than Pidgin that is actually at fault. Note that the Chinese IMEs for Windows commonly used in the West have English and Chinese sub-modes, and it is possible that the IME has switched between sub-modes. This might happen because of a particular key combination, but I would still expect it to be limited to the current window. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Re: 2.10.9 (on Linux) Broke internal certificates
On 1/6/2015 12:22 PM Joss, Kirby A. kaj...@carilionclinic.org said unto support@pidgin.im support@pidgin.im: Our internal Spark IM system uses self-signed certs which are un-expired and stil work with RHEL 6.6 Pidgin 2.7.9-27el6 on my Linux workstation and older Pidgins on Windoze. When Mint 17 updates provided Pidgin 2.10.9, not only did it pronounce only our internal cert invalid, but there is no apparent provision to over-ride and accept it anyway. I can still monitor gmail, yahoo, and even AOL (all expendable at work) but being off the corporate system is unacceptable, so I'm now looking for a replacement generic IM client that works on the ubuntu family of *nix. 2.10.9 is an old release with (I'm pretty certain known) cert issues, which is why 2.10.10 was pushed and subsequently 2.10.11. You should upgrade your installation and see if your issue is resolved.
