Set Pidgin to blink

Hi,

I'm new to Pidgin and to the list, and I apologize if this question has
been answered previously. (I checked online and didn't find an answer.)

I would like to set he Pidgin icon in the program tray to blink or
otherwise give a visual alert when a new message has arrived. I see sound
settings but not visual settings.

Could someone point me in the right direction?

In case it is relevant, when I downloaded Pidgin, I selected AIM protocol.

The Message Notification Plugin (which is distributed with Pidgin)
will help with this.

You can also set the tray icon to blink using the right-click menu.
