When you did an install, did you check install 3rd party software and firmware? If no, this could be your problem. If yes and the installer failed to set up your network and do the downloads this is something the installer ought to have alerted you to its failure. I suggest you install the unity-greeter package, and use that as your preferred lightdm greeter, as that has accessibility support. Hi, I'm running an installation of Ubuntu Mate edition, and cannot seem to unmute the login greeter. the 'ctrl+s' and 'alt+super+s' keystrokes do not result in speech.
