Public bug reported:

low on disk space too, only 100 MB or so left,
so if this kernel is not installing and not going to work,
it may brick linux on me...

if a kernel module doesn't install,
does it still run without the module
and just not get virtualization?
or whatever hardware support the kernel
moduile is for?

kind of vanilla kernel?
leave off the mixins?

[Bug 902865] [NEW] lucid udev upgrade failure on oneiric hosted lxc container

2011-12-11 Thread Robert Collins
Public bug reported:

Setting up udev (151-12.3) ...

I realise that this is arguably a config issue, or a udev issue.
However, folk experiencing this problem will come looking in lxc for a
solution (and lxc really needs to be the place where we identify collate
and fix this sort of thing... doesn't it?)

[Bug 833701] Re: math objects inherit automatic font color

2011-12-11 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
There should be a possibility to define styles for formulas in the same
way than you can define text styles or paragraph styles. This is a long
standing bug/wishlist.

As is it possible to define all other text attributes by styles (in
german: Vorlagen) the standard text color is de facto the default math
color attribute. IMO this is not a design decision but an (upstream)
fault.

[Bug 29894] Re: can't take screenshot when menu on panel is opened

2011-12-11 Thread dasnk
When I press the Print Screen key in Chrome web browser, I cannot take a
screen shot if a menu is open.

It is not just menu's. I am developing a chrome extension that opens a
HTML window, there are no key bindings for this but a screenshot cannot
to be taken unless that overlay is closed.

I don't see why the PRINT SCREEN key is important for accelerators, it's
not a key that usually has any other function other than printing the
screen, indeed that is the primary function which is being blocked.

[Bug 810111] Re: Support for certain Ralink RT5390 driver not included

2011-12-11 Thread Hervé Fache
I can see no activity on this bug, but indeed the bug provided in
Oneiric just does not work properly. Web is very slow and SSH is almost
impossible (dropped packets? No errors report in ifconfig though...)

I have the OpenSuSE driver which I recompile after every kernel update,
and which works fine, although it's not integrated with the kernel core
support (mac80211) at all :-(

I hope Precise's kernel driver will work better... Any backport yet?

[Bug 902739] [NEW] Response message after importing a directory's content disappears too fast

2011-12-11 Thread Detlef Lechner
Public bug reported:

In Banshee 2.2.1 clicking Media Import Media (Import Media into the
library) (Import of:) Directory Select directory abc Import produces in
the lower left a message window for only a glimpse of time: 10 files imported
(or similar). Then the message disappears rapidly.
The appearance time of this message window needs to be prolonged in order to be
readable conveniently.
I presume that the programmer has not built in a delay but closes the message
window as soon as the presumed import action is finished.

[Bug 902307] Re: stdsoap2.cpp missing?

2011-12-11 Thread aded
Julian and Mattias,

thanks for your answers. We need a WITH_NONAMESPACES flag to compile (from
doc: Note: when you forget to use -DWITH_NONAMESPACES you will get an
unresolved link error for the global namespaces table).
Anyway we can also read: You can define a dummy table to avoid having to
recompile stdsoap2.cpp, so this isn't a bug.

Thanks again,
aded

[Bug 718427] Re: recoll slows system to a crawl

2011-12-11 Thread Alfagulf
Dear Jean,

I am using Recoll 1.15.9 + Xapian 1.2.5 from ubuntu repository.
The link you provided has a newer version (1.16.2-0~ppa1~oneiric1)

Souldn't ubuntu be alerted to this issue so that they include the fixed version
in their repository?
Thanks

[Bug 863834] Re: [regression] Suspend on lid close broken on Oneiric

2011-12-11 Thread Sauthess
Hi all,

Same problem here with a pavilion dm4 1162sf.

acpi_listen give me this :
button/lid LID0 0080 0005 - lid close event
button/lid LID0 0080 0006 - lid open event
button/lid LID0 0080 0007 - lid close event
button/lid LID0 0080 0008 - lid open event

This is incremental, starting by 0001 on the first close event...

the /proc/acpi/button/lid/*/state stays always open so the script will
never catch it as it is today (on other systems like arch linux with
3.1.4-1-ARCH kernel) , the acpi events where clearer with button/lid
LID open and button/lid LID close.

I think all is due to this strange information given in acpi events...

Here are the 2 scripts I used for a workaround on my system (I didn't
edit directly lid.sh as I want it solved without breaking my actual
workaround...) :

cat /etc/acpi/events/lidbtn
# /etc/acpi/events/lidbtn
# Called when the user closes or opens the lid

event=button[ /]lid
action=/etc/acpi/lid2.sh %e

cat /etc/acpi/lid2.sh
#!/bin/bash
# TODO: Change the above to /bin/sh

test -f /usr/share/acpi-support/state-funcs || exit 0

. /usr/share/acpi-support/power-funcs
. /usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs
. /etc/default/acpi-support

[ -x /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.pre ]  /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.pre

PARAM=$(echo $1 | awk '{print $4}')
PARAM2=$(expr `echo $((0x$PARAM))` % 2)

if [ `CheckPolicy` = 0 ]; then exit; fi

if [ $PARAM2 != 0 ]
then
for x in /tmp/.X11-unix/*; do
displaynum=`echo $x | sed s#/tmp/.X11-unix/X##`
getXuser;
if [ x$XAUTHORITY != x ]; then
export DISPLAY=:$displaynum
. /usr/share/acpi-support/screenblank
fi
done
dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.UPower
/org/freedesktop/UPower org.freedesktop.UPower.Suspend
else
for x in /tmp/.X11-unix/*; do
displaynum=`echo $x | sed s#/tmp/.X11-unix/X##`
getXuser;
if [ x$XAUTHORITY != x ]; then
export DISPLAY=:$displaynum
grep -q off-line /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/*/state
if [ $? = 1 ]
then
if pidof xscreensaver  /dev/null; then
su $user -c xscreensaver-command -unthrottle
fi
fi
if [ x$RADEON_LIGHT = xtrue ]; then
[ -x /usr/sbin/radeontool ]  radeontool light on
fi
if [ `pidof xscreensaver` ]; then
su $user -c xscreensaver-command -deactivate
fi
su $user -c xset dpms force on
fi
done
fi
[ -x /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.post ]  /etc/acpi/local/lid.sh.post

after a reboot, all is ok now

[Bug 545615] Re: Backport psycopg2 2.0.13 or higher to karmic-updates

2011-12-11 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Karmic reached EOL on April 30,
2011 so a backport will unfortunately not happen.
 Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

 Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
