[Bug 904243] Re: apache does not start on server startup

2011-12-15 Thread Martin Vysny
Thank you for your kind response. I'm an idiot - there is this entry in
/var/log/boot.log:

Syntax error on line 8 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/pokus_https:
SSLCertificateFile: file '/home/vyzivus/temp/https/localhost-server.crt' does
not exist or is empty
Action 'start' failed.

It is because my home is encrypted and it gets decrypted as I log in...
:-) Thank you once again. I think that we can mark this bug as invalid.

  AGENDA:
  - What is XCP and Kronos?

haven't investigated that yet.

them.

[Bug 904681] [NEW] precise amd64 minimal-virtual install is oversized

2011-12-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
Dave Walker (davewalker) has assigned this bug to you for Ubuntu:

The precise server amd64 minimal virtual install is currently oversized:

https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/view/Precise%20ISO%20Testing%20Dashboard/view/Daily/job
/precise-server-amd64_minimal-virtual/

I did a manual install and it looks to be around 50MB to big; some of
this might be the fact that python2.7 and python3 get installed and that
amd64 uses multiarch so has package listings and potentially installed
packages for the i386 architecture.

[Bug 904694] [NEW] Start/stop on EC2 does not reset private IPs/hostname

Public bug reported:

The Ubuntu 10.04 distributed with AMI ami-cc0e3cb8 (64bit) on EC2 EU-
West contains a bug with setting hostname/IPs on start/stop. It keeps
the old hostname.

We have seen this on 32bit as well, but we did not confirm this for this
bug report.

The version of cloud-init is 0.5.10-0ubuntu1.

[Bug 616064] Re: Broken networking in kvm guests

2011-12-15 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for the info, Anthony. The wireshark info failed to download for
me. Could you attach it here?

My only guess ATM is that it is a bad interaction with the physical
switch or router to which eth3 is attached. I'd ask you to try with
different hardware, but I see you're running production VMs on there.

Can you tell us exactly (names and models) what hardware is physically
involved in the network leading up to eth3?

Perhaps we can insert a logging layer 2 firewall between the switch and
eth3 to see what is going on there. Do you have a spare machine with
two NICs which could be used for that?

[Bug 616064] Re: Broken networking in kvm guests

2011-12-15 Thread Anthony O.
Yes, here is the Wireshark capture.

Actually, the eth3 is leading to a NetAsq U70-A firewall (8.0.3
firmware) on a DMZ subnetwork. The client I'm using is located on
another subnetwork attached to that firewall.

I can make some test if you want and send me directives...

Moreover, the server has 4 eth, I can attach eth2 for instance directly
in the same network as my client machine ?

[Bug 903901] Re: [Lucid] backport fix for ITS#6458

2011-12-15 Thread Peter Matulis
** Description changed:

  The problem:

  Replication fails if an attribute of a multi-value attribute entry is
  removed if the attribute does not have a equality matching rule defined
  in the schema.

  The problem can be mitigated temporarily by a doing a full re-sync by
  removing the affected database and restarting the service to trigger a
  full sync.

  This is fixed upstream beginning with the slapd 2.4.25 branch:

  openldap-2.4.25/CHANGES: Fixed slapd syncrepl for attributes with no
  matching rule (ITS#6458)

  For Ubuntu, this translates to the fix appearing in Oneiric:

  slapd | 2.4.21-0ubuntu5.6 | lucid-updates
  slapd | 2.4.23-6ubuntu6.1 | natty-updates
  slapd | 2.4.25-1.1ubuntu4 | oneiric-updates

  I am requesting the fix be backported at least to Lucid.

  Upstream bug:

http://www.openldap.org/its/index.cgi/Software%20Bugs?id=6458;selectid=6458;usearchives=1

  SRU Justification:

- [Impact]: TBC
+ [Impact]: Serious. Replication, when used, is there for important reasons. It
should not break due to a schema, even if poorly designed.
  [Development Fix]: Fixed in an upstream release and thus already present
since Oneiric
  [Stable Fix]: lucid-proposed.debdiff, attached - patches taken from upstream
git repository
- [Test Case]: TBC
+ [Test Case]: Attached as test_case.txt (from upstream bug; for consistency)
  [Regression Potential]: looks to be minimal from looking at the patch. There
appears to be a comprehensive test suite that continues to pass with this patch
applied.

** Attachment added: SRU test case

[Blueprint servercloud-p-juju-roadmap] Juju Roadmap for 12.04

2011-12-15 Thread Robbie Williamson
Blueprint changed by Robbie Williamson:

Whiteboard changed:
  Session notes:

  12.04

  STABILITY
   - Survive zookeeper reboots, transient network failures, bug fixes, etc.
   - user experience work around the cli.

  CO-LOCATION / Master-Slave
   - deploying additional services into an existing service unit container, ie
logging, monitoring, additional config management.

   Charm Store  and Client Integration

  Placement / Resource Constraints

   - Specify resource constraints utilized when allocating/acquiring a
  machine. ie. deploy hadoop with 16gb of ram. Deploy a unit of mongodb in
  a different data center. Deploy a unit of a service along side an
  existing (not in the same container).

   External Zookeeper option for HA for 12.04

   juju add-machine for standby machines ready to do service/unit
  deployments

   REST API (nice to have, will definitely happen, unsure for 12.04)

   ACTIONS
    - Start using blue prints
    - final roadmap to the list

  Questions/Comments:
  This doesn't yet seem drafted? -- Daviey

[Bug 904739] Re: euca-import-keypair does not work

2011-12-15 Thread Bastian Gebhardt
i got the error. I sniffed the transfered traffic (to an non-cloud http
server) and noticed that the transferred public_key_material is the
base64 encoded _filename_ of the public key, not the base64 encoded
_content_ of the file.

In the method import_key_pair(self, key_name, public_key_material) in
the file /usr/share/pyshared/boto/ec2/connection.py the
public_key_material is base64 encoded, i checked by printing the value
of the variable.

2011-12-15 Thread Scott Moser
On Thu, 15 Dec 2011, Dave Walker wrote:

I honestly don't know much about windows. I know that virtio drivers are
available for windows, and I actually believe you can get them signed by
Canonical. google is failing me now, though.

I think temporary pain in getting virtio drivers for windows is more than
overcome by not having to make this change later and breaking existing
amis.

Is there something we need to do to properly complete the dist-upgrade?
I got confusing messages about the process being cancelled, then
completed. I _seem_ to have a working Oneiric now, but with it looking
so different to Natty, I'm not sure if I'm missing stuff or not.

Thank you for your kind response. I'm an idiot - there is this entry in

Syntax error on line 8 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/pokus_https:
SSLCertificateFile: file '/home/vyzivus/temp/https/localhost-server.crt' does
not exist or is empty
Action 'start' failed.

It is because my home is encrypted and it gets decrypted as I log in...

It would be nice if the IDE installer detected if Unity is installed and
automatically added an icon to the launcher toolbar. It is pretty easy
to do (a file must be created and another XML file must be changed), I
described a manual configuration on my blog:

3) Restart

[Bug 884320] Re: EC2 oneiric BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at f57ba9a1

2011-12-15 Thread Stefan Bader
I had been asking specifically to try a coming kernel version which I
suspect may contains a patch that fixes the problem. Without feedback to
that it makes not sense to go on here. Thanks.

[Bug 879018] Re: ffserver cannot bind listening port

2011-12-15 Thread I_Am
Dennyb87 right below the first edit is this:

if (my_rtsp_addr.sin_port) {
rtsp_server_fd = socket_open_listen(my_rtsp_addr);
if (rtsp_server_fd  0)
return -1;
}
change it to this:

if (my_rtsp_addr.sin_port) {
my_rtsp_addr.sin_family = AF_INET;
rtsp_server_fd = socket_open_listen(my_rtsp_addr);
if (rtsp_server_fd  0)
