Re: [Bug 1227937] [NEW] lxc-start is unconfined but has a profile defined
Thanks for reporting this bug. I can't reproduce this on a stock saucy system. How and when was that container created and started? Was it auto-started (since it's pid 471)? If you stop and restart the container, does that continue to be the case? Is it possible you had done unloaded all profiles and restarted apparmor while the container was running? Lxc doesn't do anything in particular to enter the lxc-start profile, it just gets entered into it by the pathname. Apart from explicitly entering the unconfined domain (which is only done by the init process, if you have lxc.aa_profile = unconfined inthe container configuration file, right before executing /sbin/init) So I'm not sure what lxc could have done to get into this state, but I sure hope we can get to the bottom of it. priority: high status: incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1227937 Title: lxc-start is unconfined but has a profile defined To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1227937/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1026621] Re: nova-network gets release_fixed_ip events from someplace, but the database still keeps them associated with instances
My issue is the timezone changing on my Win2k8 instances. When an instance boots up, it is on UTC. It gets a DHCP lease in this timezone. After a few minutes, the timezone is then changed to PDT and the time Windows thinks it obtained the lease gets screwed up (~136 years in the past). DHCP then gives up on renewing the lease until the instance is rebooted, or it is renewed manually. Once Windows misses renewing the lease, nova marks the lease as released in the db (and nova-dhcpbridge generates the del message). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1026621 Title: nova-network gets release_fixed_ip events from someplace, but the database still keeps them associated with instances To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1026621/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Apart from explicitly entering the unconfined domain (which is only done by the init process, if you have lxc.aa_profile = unconfined inthe container configuration file, right before executing /sbin/init) So I'm not sure what lxc could have done to get into this state, but I sure hope we can get to the bottom of it. priority: high status: incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1227937 Title: lxc-start is unconfined but has a profile defined To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1227937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1184025] Re: [USB-Audio - Razer Megalodon, playback] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound
Hey, I´m an suse user with exactly the Same Problem. I got completely the same issue as reportados123, but i found a (not complete) fix! I searched about this thing for Weeks and get stuck at the snd_usb_audio kernel module. I noticed the 'nrpacks' parameter of this module and start to play with it... and finally NO CRACKS. The Sound was fixed. But the Microphone get sometimes really worse like squeaking sounds or high Pitch. But in most use cases it works just perfectly. Here is what to do (I use opensuse 12.3, so i don’t know if it works for you..) 1. Stop any Application that uses ALSA or Pulse. 2. Open a Root shell (su, or sudo su) 3. type killall pulseaudio in your Terminal Emulator so long if it stops for auto spawn (yes, i know dirty but i´m lazy) 4. unload 'snd_usb_audio' with rmmod snd_usb_audio. 5. Create an configuration file for 'snd_usb_audio' in /etc/modprobe.d/ echo options snd-usb-audio nrpacks=16 /etc/modprobe.d/audio- force.conf Note: For me works '16' as the Best Value. . 6. Now load 'snd_usb_audio' again: modprobe snd_usb_audio 7. Start pulseaudio again or just relog/boot. I hope it helps anyone! p.s: sry my english sucks :p (from germany) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1184025 Title: [USB-Audio - Razer Megalodon, playback] Underruns, dropouts or crackling sound To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/1184025/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1220427] Re: [MIR] simplestreams
I reviewed simplestreams version 0.1.0~bzr307-0ubuntu1 as checked into Saucy, and skimmed the lp:simplestreams checkins after 307. This is not a full security audit, but a quick gauge of code quality. - simplestreams provides standardized ways for cloud providers and guests to manage operating system images, tools images, asset images, etc., so that specific versions and 'latest versions' can be discovered and deployed. - Build-depends upon python and python3 usual, and python3-yaml - Depends upon python3-yaml, gnupg, python3-requests, python-boto, python-glanceclient, python-keystoneclient, python-swiftclient - gnupg used for signing json descriptions of resources and validating json descriptions of resources - Uses other libraries for openstack or aws networking, urllib for http - Does not daemonize - No initscripts - No dbus - No setuid - No sudo - No cron - Nice test suite has positive and negative tests - Clean build logs - Three lintian warnings, one lintian error - Subprocesses spawned extensively, 'subp' wrapper handles input, output, and throwing exceptions if programs exit with error statuses. Arrays are used to construct arguments. 'call_hook' can execute hooks, similar to 'subp', also uses an array to construct arguments. - Extensive file operations, names are constructed off simple manipulations of supplied data, looks safe - Logging looks safe - Environment variables are used for selectively disabling known-broken images, selecting gpg keys, and modifying gpg batch mode - Extensive use of encryption, safety relies upon gpg returning an error status if it discovers a problem, this is probably a safe assumption. - Can encode md5, sha256, sha512, of images - Checks one of the hashes in the (potentially signed) .json files - There are no privileged portions of code - No WebKit - As an especially nice bonus, there are pylint annotations throughout This is a complicated piece of software, more than the simple in the name may imply, but it is programmed well and has a nice test suite run during the build. I would prefer if there were no unsigned modes of operation to reduce the chances of making a mistake in the signed data handling -- there are code paths that have to handle both cases scattered throughout. There is a potential problem in the 'checksummer' class: __init__() will pick one of the available hash functions for use when validating images; I believe the logic in __init__() will pick the strongest function available but it surprises me that of the listed hashes in a stream, only one will be used to validate the images. Security team ACK for including into main. [Bug 1195483] Re: Installation, Live and Check disc do not start on Asus ZenBook Prime UX31A
I can confirm this issue. I can get to my desktop by attaching an external monitor -- it is apparently only the internal display which doesn't work. This is on a raring - saucy upgrade. I also tried mainline kernel 3.11.1-031101-generic and it has the same issue. I will gladly help getting this fixed. I'm pretty proficient with git and I did a kernel build before, so I could theoretically do a bisect. If someone 'in the know' can give me some extra starting points (do I build a .deb for each bisect step?), I can probably find the offending commit. Private bug reported: After the update yesterday (Sept 19 2013). I have a problem with Thunderbird The window to write letters (or reply to letters) is borked. There is no cursor, and although it is focused, the active window is still the main Thunderbird window, so I can't write anything. This happens after running Thunderbird for a while, and I have to close and re-open Thunderbird to be able to write a letter again. [CODE]$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Hi Ubuntu-release team, would be nice to have this sync accepted since boinctui is in debian/testing since almost one month, this release brings a little few new features, but fixes some bugs that can likely appear if you don't sync * network requests moved to separete threads (ui not freeze then network hang) * confirmation dialogs for some operations (abort task, detach project etc.) Syncing will avoid this kind of bug reports thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226983 Title: Sync boinctui 2.3.1-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/boinctui/+bug/1226983/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1228009] [NEW] Regression: Zebra striping is no longer present
Public bug reported: I upgraded Thunderbird yesterday (19 Sep 2013) to 24.0+build1-0ubuntu0.13.04.1. I upgrade packages almost every day, but (from /var/log/apt/history.log) it seems like the previous version was 17.0.8+build1-0ubuntu0.13.04.1. (v17 to v24. Is that correct?) Upon restarting, the zebra striping in the list of emails is no longer present. I'm using the default theme (Default 24.0, last updated 19 Sep 2013). I've also tried restarting in safe mode, but the zebra striping is still absent. The background no longer alternates, instead displaying the same white colour for all messages. [Bug 1062077] Re: [HP TouchSmart tm2-2010eg] Linux hangs with: [drm:atom_op_jump] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting
So I found out, why those hangs occur (or better: how to heal them): till now I've had a script in my autostart-section which essentially just disabled the dgpu (the power-gpu). It seems like X.org or something isn't happy with getting robbed a card while it is running. So my solution/fix is: Deaktivating the card before X.org is even started, by setting up an Upstart-Job: $ sudo nano /etc/init/disable-gpu.conf # content at: http://paste.ubuntu.com/6131570/ Now everything (including Audio, which had a separate bug) works fine, no hangs at shutdown, no problems at suspend/resume, no problems at VT- switching. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1062077 Title: [HP TouchSmart tm2-2010eg] Linux hangs with: [drm:atom_op_jump] *ERROR* atombios stuck in loop for more than 5secs aborting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1062077/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
